Ok, I have a slow conection and wish to do other things at the same time so here are my questions…

1) Is there some way to limit the download speed?

2) If I exit the client updater, does it continue next time I open it or restart the download?

No, GW2 uses maximum speed always. However, it shows you how much bandwidth was consumed with downloading.

It continues where it left off.

Thanks mate, but are you sure about answer to point 2? :S

The client will start at the next file it needs to download. Note that the progress bar (that is actually a percentage of the NUMBER of files needed to be downloaded….NOT any indication of size at all) will NOT be maintained and will start over at 0% (even if you got to 80% previously). I know that is confusing and appears that all your previous downloading was lost, but that’s just how it works.
