I guess at some point you folks disabled the “change your e-mail” function because I just opened a new e-mail yesterday to a different e-mail address and had to submit a ticket to get that done. I sent in all the requested information and they made the change last night. Tried to login this morning, couldnt do it, updated the ticket explaining what happened, they wannt all that info that I just sent you yesterday again, it was even in the ticket already. Fine no problem sent that in. Got to looking and discovered that when I sent you my new e-mail address I accidentally put a space in my e-mail and that was causing the issue. I updated the ticket explaining about the mistake and that all they needed to do was removed the space and it should work. I got a response saying that they were glad my issue was resolved and to contact them if I needed further assitance. I responded explaining that I had not resolved the issue, but discovered the problem and that it needed to be fixed on your end because the tech probably just copy and pasted my new e-mail address and that they just needed to remove the space and it would be fine. I got a response saying that they had successfuly changed my e-mail address but they changed it back to my old e-mail. Its as if they aren’t even reading the tickets. This is frustrating to say the least.

I think it would be a good idea to automate this on the website, because honestly all the information I sent could have easily been entered by me, and all of this could have been taken care of without having to play e-mail tag with you guys. It would free you guys up for more important things, and make life easier on us.

I think it would be a good idea to automate this on the website, because honestly all the information I sent could have easily been entered by me

Also , It could be easily been entered by an hacker too if your account was compromised. The option was there in the early days …. they had to remove it because hackers steal and hack passwords from other sites/games and then literally scan GW2 accounts … and if they find one they change the e-mail and you are locked out of your account ..

At least they have more control for now on e-mail changes with this method … and hey … they do it for you … for your security

Normally I would agree but considering the information I had to give them throgh the ticketing system, I would take a brilliant hacker to get all the information required for me to do this thru the ticketing system. I had to give them my displayname.xxxx, current e-mail, serial number, order number, last 4 of credit card number, date purchased, etc…. not so easy for the hacker I think. And if they are going to be the ones changing the e-mail addresses they need to do a much better job. They still haven’t gotten mine changed, in fact the last response I got from them told me that they changed it, and sure enough they did, they changed it back to the old e-mail address which is the one I am trying to change it away from. All this mess because they can’t seem to read the ticket. If this is the better way to go, they need to get better at doing their job.

when the e-mail option change tool was online .. a hacker only needed your e-mail and password and bam ! you are locked out of your account… now A.net ask for serial Key , credit card info etc … to verify if you are the legitimate owner because anyone can submit a ticket and ask for a e-mail change , got it ?

i was in the same situation as you , i changed my internet provider and my e-mail changed too … i got it sorted out in 2 days ….im sorry that it went wrong for you

Oh I love this, waited nearly four hours now and finally I get this response.

“I am transferring your ticket to a team more equipped to handle your problem.”

I am sorry, but how equipped do you have to be to just take one space out of an e-mail address? That was the only problem to begin with, I gave them my new e-mail address and accidentally put a space in there, thats it. And they are’nt equipped to take a space out of an e-mail address? Are you kidding me?
