Extreme low fps at times.. unplayable
Check that you’re not playing in power save mode and are in high performance.
i’m set to High performance, no progam running in the background, antivirus set to gaming mode, nothing is a fix…
Switch to full screen window and run CoreTemp to double check the actual CPU speed and to see if you are overheating and GPU-Z and switch over the the sensors tab and see if the GPU is all running at it’s max speed.

sorry if you saw my other post, I was downloading something to see my performance, I cancelled it and restarted my computer to see exactly what came from Gw2
and from what I understand from TJ.Max 100, my temperatures are perfectly normal
Seems like I’m spamming the forum now, sorry for that, but I found something that fixed my FPS-problems:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/How-I-solved-my-massive-FPS-problem
CPUZ doesn’t work with every graphic card I believe, the lower section (graphic interface) is grayed out and there is no settings displayed.
That happened to me, resolved the issue with overclocking. But now, the problem came back, even with overclock settings. Stuck again at 1x pci e instead of 16×. Was at 64 fps. Now again at 8fps.
I was thinking it was the Catalyst drivers, but it happens also with Nvidia cards. The port goes 1x on normal use. It supposed to fire up at 16x when gaming.
Tried with Windows 7 and Windows 8. Power profile on High Perfomance. Card on the 16 x port. Tested with over 10 different drivers (Catalyst) versions (from 13.1 to 13.12.
So, the main problem is, pci express port getting stuck at 1x speeds when we play the game. That’s why we get low fps. (port on 16x I get 64 fps, everything on max, 1080p.) With port stuck on 1x, I get 8 fps, everything on low.

Notice your clock frequency in that screenshot, 1100 MHz. I’m going to say it’s throttling and that’s your problem in a nutshell.

Hmm and any idea on how to make it better??
When you took the screenshot, the system probably was already throttling down cause of the high temp of your CPU (93 ° at 1100 MHz is too hot for your CPU, wich should be running at 2200 MHZ) . You should check the fans and heatsink (dust). If all is good, then I would clean and reaply heatsink compound.
In my experience coretemp lies about the CPU temps and my temperatures were at the most ten degrees lower than Core Temp’s post.
okay tyvm, i’m gonna check out the fans to see if there is any dust, even though I cleaned everything a few months ago and see how it does

Okay i’m just gonna say I love you
I opened my laptop this morning, cleaned everything (my fan was literally pushing the air through a layer of dust lol) heatsink gel was fine, it was only the fan.
notice my FPS in LA, of course it’s still at lowest settings, but yesterday it was 15fps max, and now i’m running at 3ghz (weird tho, because it’s a 2.2ghz.. oh well)

an i5 and i7 processor will always run at it’s max turbo frequency depending on how many cores are being used which in your case is 3 GHz sa the i7 2670QM boosts to 3.2 GHz on single core turbo. quad turbo is 3 GHz. As long as turbo boost is enabled, it will do this.
OP. Are you sure you are using the discrete graphic card. Not the internal intel card?
Because it sound like a severe gpu bottleneck in your case

My internal graphic card (Intel HD graphics 3000) only works in the background for viewing desktop, movies, pictures and stuff. For playing games, Nvidia takes the lead.
My issue is fixed btw

If you had taken the time to read the thread, you would have read over that he cleaned his laptop’s heatsink and it’s no longer overheating and throttling his processor.

Nice!
