FPS Drop when rotating camera
Of course it does, it’s loading up assets that had yet to be rendered. Spinning around once or twice pretty much fixes that problem.
I see it all the time as I exit the gate from Black Citadel to Diessa Plateau. Looking left (to the west) drops to a crawl. However looking away and back again has not such stutter.

Nope. The FPS stuttering happens when I’m walking too just not as often.
Because the game can’t keep all assets in memory. They are unloaded if the game thinks they are “unlikely” to be needed anymore to make room as new assets are loaded. Caching is never 100% perfect.

Same problem. 40-60 fps depends on settings. Whenever i rotate camera it drops to 8-10 dps ( doesnt matter what settings). It used to be like this a year ago then it got fixed and worked properly. Now it’s back to broken stage.
Updated drivers and no, spinning doesn’t fix it. You can spin all day long and it still stutter when you try to move camera. It works fine when I just run towards even for for miles, problem only occurs when rotating (either with mouse or keyboard).
Works perfectly fine in other games (even more demanding ones)

I have the same problem and what annoys me the most is it hadn’t happened before I got back into the game. I played religiously like a year ago and it played at 45-60 fps at all times. A year later I decide to update and get back into it, same system and everything, and it stutters when I rotate my camera.
This whole game is an optimization nightmare.
