Guild Wars 2

Hi everyone,

I love GW2’s PvE. I think this is the first game, since RuneScape, where I’m actively involved in PvE rather than PvP. I have one issue with the overall game though, and that’d be FPS. My FPS clips so much because of low frame rates (e.g. 6,7 and 8 FPS).

I was wondering if there’s a solution to this. I play on a Dell Inspiron laptop. It seems it has intel core i5 and I run it on Windows 7. All help would be appreciated.

sub 10 fps isnt playable and its likely simply due to ur laptop not being a gaming laptop. Runescape is no GW2, GW2 has WAY higher requirments.

Your only option would be to build a PC or buy a new laptop, and it wont be cheap.

Probably it is an i5 first generation too. They were good 2 years ago. Now they are pretty low in speed. Buying a laptop who will run GW2 with full options will not be cheap….

I will admit that the first gen stuff is slower than 2nd/3rd gen hardware., but its not that slow. I have a laptop with a i5 M520 and a Quadro FX 880M graphics card and it gets 30 fps on lowest settings in LA. I think that the laptop probably has a low end graphics card which is hampering his experience. Either way, its time to buy a new machine, but my guess is that they are lacking the graphics power and not the CPU power.

My siblings have a E6320 C2D @ 2.4Ghz and used to have my old 9800GT. They got single digit frames with that configuration, but then I got them a GTX 650Ti and now they can run the game better than my aforementioned laptop.

If you can dish out 1k for a portable gaming computer, wonderful, but I highly recommend a desktop for gaming.

sorry but no laptops gonna be able to run this game as well as i should, the games optimized for 3 cores at 6-8ghz….saddly nobody makes a cpu like that….let alone in a laptop form factor.

try tera its now free and scales far better with hardware then gw2 does….

Yea, but the same happens to me and I play on the computer. And it happens to a lot of players too, specially since the last update(january 28). And setting graphs to the lowest dont solves it. And the fun fact is that alt+tabbing normally solves the problem for a few seconds
