When I log in today, the game runs very poorly. The load times are around 1.5x-2x longer and my FPS is shot. Up until today, the game ran fine.
I have the most up-to-date video drivers.
System info:
Win 7 64 bit
i7 2600-k
8GB RAM
2x ATI Radeon 6950s in Crossfire
The game is now unplayable even on lowest settings. Was there a patch yesterday/today? If not, the only thing I can think of that changed is a Windows update yesterday.
Edit: I’ve attached my dxdiag

As Crazedmonk.9061 pointed out in this thread disabling crossfire fixed the problem.
Any wonder why crossfire breaks the game as of today (Sept. 13)?

Was Xfire even working before? Does GW2 even support Xfire? Did you monitor both GPU’s while running GW2 to ensure both were being utilized prior to today?

Not sure if it was officially supported or even “working” but it didn’t make the game unplayable until today.
Before today I could run the game at max settings while achieving 60+ FPS. Today it just grinded to a halt at 5FPS on lowest settings.
So as of now, it seems it definitely DOES NOT like crossfire as to before it seemed to not care.

No, you can’t truly max this game with your pc. Mine destroys yours & I still can’t truly max this game @ a constant >60fps.
Perhaps you were over-estimating exactly how many FPS you were getting before?

The only thing I don’t have set is the Render Sampling to Supersampling. So I guess it’s not at max settings…
Regardless, this post should just let everyone know that having Crossfire enabled will KILL the performance of the game. And that is a recent change as of prior to today, having Crossfire enabled did nothing to hinder the performance.

One thing I have noticed is that GW2 does not seem to make use of all GPU memory when first loading a zone. It doesn’t appear to do any ‘read ahead’, but rather reads data as you encounter it.
I often will just spin in a circle to get a lot of data loaded, which seems to help.
What I noticed mostly in the last few days is long loading times and waypoint teleportation times (same thing I guess), even to areas I’ve recently visited.
My system should be fine, its a 3.6GHz i7, 12GB RAM, GTX690 graphics card and generally well maintained.
Its perfectly playable, just performance is a little lower than expected, and indeed a good bit lower than it was 2 weeks ago.
