FPS issues, Buy or Build new PC?
Im crunching numbers, and trying to decide if I should buy a new PC or build one myself. My main components that I want are these:
Intel Core i5-4670K Quad-Core Desktop Processor 3.4 GHZ
MSI Computer Corp. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti
Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR
Corsair CX750 PSU
Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H MoBo
NZXT Source 210 ELITE Midtower CaseAfter Windows 7, HDD, Warranty and shipping it comes out to about $1000
Any suggestions on a good pre-built for the same price or maybe somewhere I can cut costs. I’m not changing the GPU or CPU
Thanks
Local – Frys and/or Microcenter
Web – newegg, TigerDirect, amazon
and build it yourself. If you bought that system pre-built it would cost you an upward of 1500~
Laptop: M6600 – 2720QM, AMD HD6970M, 32GB 1600CL9 RAM, Arc100 480GB SSD
buying prebuilt will usually get you a crappy psu/mobo and an oem version of windows.
If you wanted the amazon one, you could spec out the components for a cheaper build instead and still get better quality.
Only thing decent on the prebuilt you want is the GTX 760. The power supply in it I would avoid as it uses a LEPA unit that uses Junfu capacitors that are not known for quality, and actually listed over at BadCaps as some to avoid.

That setup will cost less than the prebuilt, offer better individual warranty services as well as better quality in products, as well as a better processor that you can also overclock on that nice MSI board. And I even listed the case you wanted too.

Protip, Avoid tiger direct. Or any ‘Direct’ named online retailer. They will screw you on shipping.

I always recommend to people to build their PC if possible. Not only is it cheaper, but once you know how to put a computer together, it can save you a lot of money in the long-run when you just want to upgrade a sole component rather than buying a new system entirely. I say this because a number of pre-built computers come with proprietary parts that make it difficult or flat-out impossible to upgrade.
If possible, I recommend to get a GTX 760 GPU. Otherwise, it looks like a pretty solid system. Good luck!
