I just bought the MSI gx600 laptop and I was hoping for a more stable framerate than what i’m currently getting (10-25fps in lion’s arch, 30-45fps in wayfarer foothills and diessa plateau) at mid-high settings.

these are my specs
CPU: AMD A10-4600M w/radeon HD graphics 2.30GHz
VGA: AMD Radeon HD 7970M / 2gb gddr5
RAM: DDRIII 8GB (4GB*2)
HDD: 750GB 7200RPM
RF: 802.11b/g/n

i know little about computers and how they should run, I previously owned a much weaker laptop so I assumed I’d be able to run at higher settings with a more stable framerate. i tried installing the catalyst drivers and updating to the latest drivers as well, but to no avail. I have heard people say the AMD radeon hd 7970m is the ideal graphics card if you want to play the gw2 at the highest settings. is there any way i can improve my performance? other than the obvious suggestions like tuning my power options to high performance, or closing any unused programs.

What is limiting your FPS is your CPU. (See Part 4.2)

What kirito said.
You picked a Laptop with one of not so good AMD cpus even while Your graphic card is top end.
If You still can, go return that laptop – check law restrictions into that matter, usualy in most EU countires you have 10 days to return stuff you bought without explanation.

If it’s past that time, You could also goto store manager or so and try to talk with him nicely to somehow exchange laptop for other one.

Try to look for a laptop with even a bit lower graphic card : 7850/7870/7950M ir 560/570/580/660/670M gtx series but with i7 CPU QM version with either ( 4 cores or 4 cores/8threads ) with turbo up to 3.4Ghz

I agree with the previous poster, if you can return it, I would. That CPU is not going to cut it.

If ur able to, try find a replacement laptop with one ofthe following CPU’s.

3840QM
3820QM
3740QM
3720QM
3630QM

Anything less wil llikely not have a high enough clock speed to give u good enough FPS.

Just note..no laptop out can keep fps from dropping below 30 in places like LA and WvW.

Unless you get a laptop with the Intel Core i7-3920XM.

Even that wont do.
You’d need a mobile chip equivlanet to a 3570k OC’ed to 4.5ghz.
