So my question to ArenaNet , NCSoft or Nexon or whoever owns this now. Is there any plans to optimize this game?
Optimize for older setups?! That unfortunately won’t happen. Like the hardware keeps getting better so will requirements for games. And there really is no way around that.

Don’t help really when you need a computer the same power as a Nasa one to run this game

What?
I didn’t say that. I mean my system is certainly not the newest but works for now. But I’m certain that in a year or less I to upgrade to be able to play some new game.
It’s just the way it works

Sorry Sandra. I didn’t mean It to sound like that. I’m just annoyed at the company as I feel In a way I like many people have been misled as I’m stuck with an account I can’t even use or do anything with.

Not to ruin your day anymore than it is, but
Windows 7 home premium 32 bit
That will cause you a lot of headaches even if you could play the game in high settings.
First of all, I see you have 4 gigs, but only 32 bit windows. 32bit windows cannot address the whole 4 gigs. So you are actually at 3.25gb of ram.
The good thing is: as long as you have a 64bit dvd to use, your Windows code will work. They don’t care about 32 vs 64bits.
I can’t say this will fix it, but I would suggest performing a clean install of your PC with 64-bit windows, making sure all drivers are up to date.
Also, try using the command line argument “-useOldFov” if you do not have a widescreen monitor.

It could help to know more about your setup. Could you run the following and post the output as an attachment.
To run Game Advisor:
Download Game Advisor from here: http://us.ncsoft.com/gameadvisor
Double click “Game Advisor.exe” to start the application.
Once started, click the icon for the game you wish to test. For Guild Wars 2, please use the Guild Wars button.
Once selected, click “Test Computer and Connection.”

Cool cheers. I will re-Install using 64-bit. Hopefully there are drivers for my wireless device lol

It’s okay. I do understand the frustration.
And yes, try the tips given. Cause well, meeting minimum specs does not always mean that it runs well.
I believe the minimum specs listed on the box is misleading but then again the minimum specs is misleading on most games it is a ploy to sell more copies of the game.
IMHO the recommended specs for a game equals the true minimum spec for a game.

It’s called minimum system requirements. https://en.support.guildwars2.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1119/session/L3RpbWUvMTM2NjIwNzc2Ni9zaWQvUVd6NktYbmw%3D
That means that is the bare minimum to play the game. And yes you can play on 10 fps. If you don’t like it the performance you should get a better system.
Arenaqnet however is very friendly when it comes to refund. Check out here what to do: https://en.support.guildwars2.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9053/kw/refund
Bottomline is that if you have tested for a limited time and decide that the game isn’t for you or your system you normally get a refund
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Got an email back from them saying I can’t get a refund because It wasn’t brought from the site. Trouble with that being HMV don’t give refunds either so I’m stuck lol
My specs are as followed
Intel Core Duo 2.6GHZ
Nvidia 9600GT
4Gigs of ram
Windows 7 home premium 32 bitI know alot of people will probably say your hardware isn’t powerfull enough. It should give more than 10FPS
No ..it shouldnt.
Your rig is around 5 years old, pushing on 6. Whether u bought it 5/6 years ago or not is irrelivant, the parts are that old.
You cant expect PC components that were never even top end at release, to still be viable 5 years later. Only the extreme/top end gear can last 5 years and still be somewhat effective in ‘some’ games.
EVGA GTX 780 Classified w/ EK block | XSPC D5 Photon 270 Res/Pump | NexXxos Monsta 240 Rad
CM Storm Stryker case | Seasonic 1000W PSU | Asux Xonar D2X & Logitech Z5500 Sound system |
Then In that case I have spent the money on a 40 pound forum login. Fool me. Companies really should say this product won’t work on Core 2 Duo Instead of saying Minimum. In the long run that would stop suckers like me paying for a product that don’t work. Not like I have an extra 600-700 pound to built a new PC. I brought Guildwars 2 to avoid charges as I came from Wow.
GW2 is a resource hog and even on top of the line hardware it will not run fluidly.
You cannot expect a system that old to run GW2 at anywhere near the frames you want.
Break out yer piggy bank, take that Rytlock statue from the collectors edition and break it open then buy yourself and modern i5/i7 system
intel 335 180gb/intel 320 160gb WD 3TB Gigabyte GTX G1 970 XFX XXX750W HAF 932
Wish it was that easy. I’m on a low Income lol. Don’t really have anything to sell or anything. Guess I’m just going to have to put up and shut up and try and save slowly lol
I have to disagree with the others regarding the performance issue being that his PC is simply too slow. My specs are similar and my performance isn’t too bad – his PC should be performing better than it is – something else is going on.
Honestly you should be getting better than that AOLCraig.
RIP City of Heroes
Decided to post some pictures. I would think AOLCraig would have similar performance. The third picture is Lion’s Arch (same graphics settings). My RAM is 4 Gig (4 X 1 gig) Kingston HyperX PC3200.
I think you really should have above 10 fps on that hardware. i have these specs before:
CPU: intel core2 quad q8400 @ 2.66ghz
GPU: nvidia geforce 9400gt
mobo: gigabyte g41m-combo
RAM: 2gb
and i believe i can play at medium at 15ish fps. and lowest for 30ish (i guess) so you should be getting more than 10 fps.
I guess it depends on where exactly ingame he is getting his FPS from.
LA 10 fps sounds fine depending on where exactly, certain areas in LA can be taxing. Out PvE’ing he could get more. WvW, deffiantly below 10.
