Massive lag reported from everyone in all areas right now. 5-20 second skill delays, log in delays and even the forum site is incredibly sluggish. Really seems like a ‘Distributed Denial of Service’ DDoS attack.

As the title says… seems to be server wide on Darkhaven. Everyone is reporting major lagging issues. I tried logging in and had the same issues. Please bring the game down to fix this.

Actually, I think it was an issue at Level3 (from another post on here).

The information super-highway is not without potholes and washed out bridges…..

Well since every game that this kitten lists as targets of his DDoS attack also went down (Wildstar) at the same time I’m still thinking it was a DDoS. But yeah I’ve traced problems with Level3 too.

It says on his twitter that he indeed targeted GW2. Ugh. (about 11 hours ago, WITH Wildstar so yeah it’s connected)

I’ve got to think it was an outage at Level3 and that guy is just yanking everyone’s chain.

I have a hard time believing someone intelligent enough to take down all NCsoft’s servers is stupid enough to admit it on-line via a source that could easily be traced back (at least to the ISP he’s using). Then again, it’s hard to fathom the twisted mind behind someone that thinks either performing on-line sabotage or claiming to do so is a good hobby.

Ugh, another game is getting DDOS’d?

Phantasy Star Online 2 got DDOS’d late last month and it was down for about 2 weeks straight, and they’re still having issues. This is getting ridiculous.

I got dropped from the game and am seeing roughly 38% packet loss to GuildWars2.com right now.

My pings to other places, such as Google.com, are normal.

Hope this gets worked out soon.

I lost the ability to do anything, logged off, logged back on, still couldn’t do anything, logged off again and currently cannot log back on.

Disconnected as well. Tried to relog a few times but was quickly disconnected again and have exited the game for now. Frustrating indeed but it happens. Let’s just hope it gets sorted out sooner rather than later.

I don’t remember where, but I read that there was a DDoS attack to shut down WildStar NA. Since all NCSoft games are in the same data center…they all got hit. Hopefully they’ll get it fixed today.

It just happened to my group right after Ft. Salma. Fortunately most of us needed a break anyway. It took me two tries to rejoin the game (first one I only thought I was in it, I couldn’t mine or use crystals). I seem solid now, so keep trying if you need to be in game.

I just got back in, but the lag is massive. I think I’m getting disconnected again as I write this post.

Ok, so I’m having this issue as well… During the Gates of Maguuma Storyline I wasn’t experiencing any lag at all. When Entaglement first launched I wasn’t experiencing any lag issues… Once the first Hotfix for Entanglement was released I have been having lag issues ever since.

PC Specs :

Brand Name – CyberpowerPC
Processor – Intel Core i7 4820K (3.7GHz)
Amount of RAM – 16GB
Hard Drive – 1TB HDD + 60GB SSD
Video Card – NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 (Updated Drivers to Most Current)
Power Supply – 800W
Internet Connection Rate – 20 Mbps (speedtest.net verified)

I currently run the game off of the RPM HDD and not the SSD HDD… Needless to say, I blow the required, or even the recommended, specs completely out of the water so this is not very like to be some kind of Hardware Issue.

I have attached a screenshot of my character at the login screen with the error code that happens after I DC due to this connection issue.

If anymore information would be of assistance, or required to troubleshoot, then please let me know and it will be posted.

Yeah, apparently NCSoft’s login servers were hit, we seem to have been collateral damage in an attack on WildStar servers.

Hopefully this guy will kitten-off somebody with real skills, that can take away this nub’s DDos Tool. Seeing he more then likely just d/l’ed it, his computer is more then likely one big honeypot by now…

Yea, I’ve been seeing people lag and d/c since last night. During such times they say they cannot even log in b/c the servers were considered to be down. Half my guild d/c’d last night and couldn’t get back on due to this. Just a bit ago did a pvp that started out 5v5 and dropped to a 2v5 and at one point 0v5. At the last 100 pts 3 people managed to get back on but that match was game over pretty much…. This was a spvp queue too.

I’m no expert on network security but I don’t think it is a direct consequence of DDoS attacks. With credit card information being stored server-side now, I’m sure they have security measures that will lock down servers when they are attacked – much like how Sony was shut down for 2-3 weeks ~4 years ago after a 20 minute DDoS. It’s all about the fiscal security, which should be the #1 priority.

I was half done with AC story last night, and the everybody in the party got disconnected. Tried logging in back, and nothing worked (I enjoyed my moments of never-ending stamina xD)

From my experience they don’t update us here on their official forum. However they do on 3rd party sites like Twitter, and a tweet on their page from an hour ago says they are working on it.

Actually if you look, morelike someone claiming credit for Level 3 directing all NC Soft Traffic around the globe, look at this :- where they are sending US thru traffic thru Europe to get back to US…

This guy claimed to have DDoSed it.Some guys on the archeage forums posted the link to his twitter.He’s been claiming to have been ataking quite few games.Including gw2/wildstar.

That’s an unrelated issue that’s been going on for awhile. I was commenting on the near shutdown of NCSoft servers that happened last night, and only lasted for about 20 minutes as far as I can tell.

I just did an IP trace on a few maps in game and I’m getting routed from Washington State to California (Level3) and then to Texas (where their servers are).

Don’t know enough about these interwebs but I’m pretty sure the DDoS attack that was made on NCSoft servers last night was the culprit. Ongoing problems with how Level3 is routing things I haven’t a clue.

Try to play and there’s nothing but lag, then I get disconnected from the server after a while.

And even more massive lag followed by disconnects and errors logging in. Think a patch needs to be seriously considered.

It’s even hard to get Guildwiki or The forums to come up. All my other website connections are fine.

Whatever this is a patch would do no good because it’s not an issue with the game client or the servers. This is either a DDoS attack or Level3 routing traffic badly, neither which a patch can fix.

Someone posted in game that there were DDOS attacks and that Wildstar has the same

tons of it happening on Tequatal map, wes happening at dry top last night. Reports from others confirm this for hem as well

A DDoS attack is not solvable by a game patch… That is an issue directly with the servers, and either it’s a DDoS attack or a Route Injection Attack… Which means that someone is rapidly sending pings to the servers themselves or is rerouting all traffic heading to the servers to somewhere it’s not supposed to go and then back to the servers again.

The only real solve is to find out where the DDOS/RIA is actually coming in at, and to perform a network from that point outwards. That said, it could be one of MANY different things… A virus/malware/spyware/etc allowing network access for the attacks to go down, a zero day exploit (Hopefully not this, because then it will take at least a week to fix), or an actual in-house attack. I’m sure there are other ways to do it as well, but those are the only ones that I can think of off the top of my head.

Servers are down or out. Log ins, guild, wvw. On ts with wvw people, everyone is lagging out. Please feed the gerbils.
