Forced to Re-Download
doubt it, this kind of thing is why I really wish they offered a full client download via torrents, even if it needed updated after…..because torrents can recover from this kind of thing very easily.
I have read that you can find full client downloads on other sites, but i havent gone looking, you may want to do that.
one tip I can give, make a backup copy of the game after you get the full download done, that way, if it borks again you can just copy the backup over and update it avoiding the large downloads.(this is what i have done)
and yet again this sounds like a time you may need to run checkdisk on your drive/drives, its best to do it from command line
start>run>cmd in the window type “chkdsk /f” without the " marks, hit enter, then y then enter and restart, if you have more then 1 hdd or partition, do it for each partition by adding the drive letter for that drive following the /f example would be to test drive D you would do “chkdsk /f d:”
good luck….

Ok, perhaps I should clarify that (1) I did not get to finish the download, It cut off the first time somewhere around 80% and (2) I don’t know how to do that “check disk” thing
…Due to my computer’s miserable download speed, downloading the full game takes 5-6 hours. I’ve been downloading since then.
I do apologize for going off-topic, but you don’t know what miserable download speeds are until you’ve had Verizon DSL. Max download speed is 360KB/s. Imagine how long GW2 takes to download on that :p
Also I thought I heard of some command-like switch that would allow you to re-verify the game, perhaps it was -repair
I gave you directions

open the start menu, type “cmd” no " marks. in the black window do the above…….

… I don’t know what you just did or how this happened, but all that managed to do was slash down my download speed to less than 250 KB/S.
chkdsk has nothing to do with your download speeds, its just an error check for your hard drive, it in no way effects how fast your can download the game……talk to your isp about that one.
