I am having the same problem.

AMD is currently not workign well with GW2 so thats most likely your problem.

I cant explain why you suddenly droped fps if indeed you were getting high fps before hand. unless ofcourse you changed your game settings. However i do think your cpu is rather slow for a game like GW2. 1.6ghz is very slow.
Double check that u are in the same area where you got your high fps, have the same settings, have the same programs running in the background, have the same programs installed (whether running or not) , along with same graphics drivers. If any of those are different ..then that would be the place to start.

Nothing changed except the patch. Upon looking again, I may have 3.2Ghz. For “Processor” it says Intel® Core™ i7 CPU Q 720 @ 1.60Ghz 1.60 Ghz

So, explain why I got fps issues with gtx 680 SC edition + i5 2500k clocked to 4.2? The game is poor optimized, thats it, especially for high end cards.
The Q720 is 1.6 turboing to 2.8. So asuming its activating turbo it should be running at 2.8ghz. Which is better but imo 3ghz is the minimum you want for a MMO.
It may well be for some reason that the latest patch has stoped your cpu from turboing to 2.8ghz for what ever reason. I would check this by installing some monitoring software. A simple CPUID porgram would tell you the core clock but you need ot be able to monitor it over time so tha when you tab out you can see what it ‘was’ runnign at whilst in game compared to what it is whilst tabed out.

We talked about this already. We have similar system, mice is no problem after patch.
Something in your system may be the cause. Hardware or software?
Dont know till you scour to see what can be found.
Not say it’s your fault, but you need to eliminate anything possible.

I have problems with FPS too after the last patch.
I have a nVidia 550 Ti and an Intel Q6600 2.4 GHz. I know that is an old Quad Core and the graphic card is not that powerfull, but I’ve played 190 hours without any problems, running always at 30~35 FPS (not much, but acceptable for my PC). Now, after the patch, with the same (or even lower) configuration, it never goes more than 15 FPS… if I’m lucky.
And now, with the auto-detect configuration it sets all to the minimum, while before the patch it was a medium configuration (and it was the way I was playing).

Im sick and tired to hear kids come on this forum and answer; Oh your cpu is a bottleneck, Ohh AMD does not perform well with this game.
Well guess what i have both AMD and Intel computers and both perform equally crappy. The whole Engine is badly optimized its up to Anet to sort it out.
it might just be that Anet has upgraded GW2’s graphics subtly. Further draw distance perhaps. Somthing that may not stick out like a sorethumb but will deffinatly have a dramatic impact on performance.
Then again, it may just be a kittenup. Ether way though, its not giving everyone a problem… which is odd.
My rig by no means has a monster GPU ..it may have a monster CPU ..but even so, a 560ti has its limitations ..of which im on. Max settings aside from super sampling at 1920×1080 and my gpu usage is almost always maxed out ..if its not maxed out its close ..at or above 80%. Giving me 45+fps most the time, 60fps frequently. Droping below that in only a few VERY heavy areas and situations.
WvWvW i havnt tried yet ..im not really interested in it till the cheating/hacks have been sorted out.

I don’t know what I’ve done, but now I’m getting better FPS than before the patch (as I said in my previous post, just after downloading the patch the game had FPS problems).
Maybe rebooting the PC just fixed something in my case. I know this won’t work to most players. A friend of mine can’t get more than 15~20 FPS since he bought the game and he has better PC than me.
Same issues. Went from ~12 FPS at the least in HUGE WvW fights to ~4 FPS in even remotely large ones.
