Friend's game is crashing. Need help.
That is actually not the appropriate crash log that would be needed to determine the problem causing the crash. The crash log needed is ‘ArenaNet.log’ in the ‘Documents\Guild Wars 2’ folder.
Without knowing what this file contains, there are several possible issues that could be causing the problem.
First:
Check the game for errors and repair it
- Close your game completely.
- Next, make a copy of your Gw2 game shortcut and rename it “GW2 Repair” or to something that you will recognize it for being only for running a repair on your GW2 installation.
- Now, right-click this “Gw2 Repair” shortcut and click on “Properties”.
- On the “Shortcut” tab look in the “Target:” field, you should see:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2” or wherever you have Guild Wars 2 installed. - After the closing quotation marks in this line put a space and then add -repair
It will look like this but with your GW2 install location:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2” -repair - Hit OK after making this change.
- Run this repair shortcut. Your game will run through a repair cycle and fix any damaged files it finds.
- After it runs through, start the game using the normal GW2 game shortcut (not the repair shortcut) and see if your game can load a character properly.
If the issue persists:
- Uninstall graphics drivers
- Clean off all traces of them using a driver cleanup utility for the card manufacturer
- Reinstall the latest official/stable (non-beta) drivers for the graphics card
If the issue still persists:
- Check if there is enough RAM in the computer and that it meets minimum requirements for the game
- If there is more than 3.5gb physically in the computer and the OS is a 32-bit OS, upgrade to 64-bit OS to take advantage of all RAM available in the computer that a 32-bit OS cannot detect and use

This was helpful! Just noticed I have 32 bit Windows and 8 GB RAM, but only 3,5GB to use. Now I have to find a 64 bit version somewhere :/

I’m glad something helped.
If the computer has an actual Microsoft Windows installation disk then that Windows disk includes both the 32-bit and the 64-bit version of the OS.
If the computer was purchased from a store with Windows 32-bit preloaded onto it, then it is likely that the Restore Disk that came with the computer does not have Windows 64-bit and, as you mentioned, it would need to be acquired elsewhere. :\
However, if the computer was bought from a store, then it should have already been 64-bit if it has 8gig of RAM installed. You may want to check the Windows/Recovery/Restore disk that came with it to see if it has Windows 64-bit on it as an option.
Though why any store would sell a computer with 8gig of RAM with a 32-bit OS preloaded escapes logic.

I have the same problem. I re-installed GC drivers and the game ran better for a while, but tonight I’m crashing every 10 minutes or less.
This is the last report, I don’t know if this is the important part to understand what is the problem:

THAT is the module that is crashing GW2. I have no idea what it is though. Your friend may want to do some malware scans.
