GTX 670 4gb...whats normal fps?
Your FPS are perfectly normal for a single card, I get basically the same. If you want to pretty much double your FPS, go SLi & you’ll never look back.
Hope this helps.

If you have results of what FPS you get in Lion’s Arch with an NVidia card, let us know please! Will be very interesting.

i5-2500k@4500 / 670 GTX (+670SLI):
Lion’s Arch center (front of the statue):
670 GTX: high 38 fps / low 80 fps
670 SLI: high 45 fps / low 82 fps
Hearth of the Mists (bridge):
670 GTX: high 123 fps / low 180 fps
670 SLI: high 130 fps / low 180 fps
WvWvW (in larger fights):
High-low settings not matters, fps drops to 16-20!

Great responses, good to hear I’m having normal performance. I will be doing sli in the future since I’m doing 3d surround. I will do an update with fps in the exact locations as pictured above if you would like

I would say more so GW2 is terribly (not) optimized for CPU. Even with your core i5 @ 4.5ghz it still can’t handle gw2 well and it shows up especially in WvWvW. GPU is just sitting there twiddling around waiting for the CPU to tell it to render stuff.
Makes me wonder, what kind of CPU the developer is running for game testing.
The only exclusive skyhammer stream
What cpu ? ..one that isnt available to normal people thats for sure.
I’ve got a 3930K ..2nd best CPU out there after the 3960X once OC’ing is taken int oacount.
And even this OC’d to 4.6ghz(even if it was 5ghz) cant handle it. And its down to GW2 using between 1 to 3 main threads for its performance processes. Meaning most of those awsome 12 threads in a 6Core hyperthread cpu are wasted with GW2. Hell even a 4core 8 thread cpu is wasted.
You would need an insanely fast 4 thread cpu. somthing like 6ghz or more to run WvWvW at a good framerate with its current game engine coded the way it is. Which is impossible.
GW2 needs better coding ..it needs to be a ‘proper’ multithreaded application, it needs to use everything modern cpu’s have to offer. But atm, that is highly unlikely to happen becouse GW2 is bassed on (though highly modified) the GW1 game engine.
You can get ‘playable’ frame rates in WvWvW ..but you need a highly OC’d modern Intel cpu to do it. (4.5ghz+)

A logical hyperthreaded/bulldozer’d core will help only when there is zero branching in code, which is the distinct minority of software (think x264, prime95 and such that spend the majority of the time crunching numbers and not following if-else statements). Most games and day-to-day tasks are the exact opposite of those and can even experience a slowdown when the system decides to assign 2 threads onto the same physical core.
I’m no game developer, but it’s not always possible to just “multithread” something. The design makes a chain of dependencies, and nothing can change that short of a new design.
Well, so what sort of PC do the developers use? I want to know too.

I’d like to know what developers are running right now as well.
It seems almost everyone I know who plays this, has horrible FPS.
I my self have a high end system, and still get horrid FPS in towns and in WvW to the point where it’s not playable, competitively.
So yeah, WTB developer rig specs please.
Well, so what rigs are you using at ArenaNet? Let us know please!
