GW2 crashing in LA, didn't use to
Tried running everything in Low, and it ultimately crashed again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Delete your local.dat file located at
%APPDATA%\Guild Wars 2\
and run a “-repair” option

Ultimately, you need to re-install windows as 64-bit. You are not even using the full 4GB of ram you have. Depending on what else you are running, you are hitting a hard memory cap. Either in the processes of physical memory.

Any idea why this is now an issue? As stated, this computer ran the game with graphics on high beautifully. Its just recently we keep having to lower settings to prevent crashing.
Also, what does deleting the local.dat file do?
Thanks!
Your system was able to handle GuildWars just barely and when they added all the winters day stuff in LA that sent it over the top a lot more graphics for your PC to deal with. Update windows to the 64 bit version and if you can afford it add more ram to your system , you want at least 8 gigs. Also depending on your motherboard’s number ram slots 2 or 4, you will have to buy the ram in pairs. Your system now has 4gigs so you have 2 2gig sticks, so if your board has 2 slots with 2gig sticks installed you will have to replace them with 2 4gig sticks. If your board has 4 slots you could add 2 2gig or higher sticks. It is a very good idea to buy the same brand and speed if you can find it if you are going to add more to the 4gigs you have if you can’t you might want to replace the stick you have with 2 4 gig or higher sticks. Aways buy ram in matched pairs that’s why it’s most alway sold in pairs. Hope this makes sense to you, good luck.
put the correct term in but not everyone has kittens
Feirlista – thanks, but the graphics issue wasn’t a problem with last years Winter Day, nor did the issue just pop up with this year’s winters day. I tend to build my own comps, so am familiar with upgrading, but the mobo only supports 4gb. Obviously a different computer would improve performance, but just wondering why performance has tanked on current one, when it was operating just fine from the get-go.

Deleted local.dat, and ran as -repair, but it still crashes after about 5-7 min in LA. I understand 64bit should run better than 32, but it still comes down to the fact that this ran fine originally. Would be nice to just know what has changed in-game that now makes it unplayable with this pretty decent graphics card.
I find it hard to believe that your motherboard will only support 4gigs there hasn’t been a limitation that low for years, what kind of board is it make and model number I need to look that one up!

You have to remember also, last Wintersday the game still had culling. With the removal of culling, it requires more RAM. You need to lower your settings or increase your amount of memory the game can access(by re-installing as 64-bit).
