Game Crash
well repair on exe made no difference, still crashing. Music continues to play but i can’t use my mouse when i alt tab or when i try and close it via task manager. Have to use keyboard. Mouse is working but the gw2 still seems to be over the top :S
did a memtest as i read somewhere this could be a RAM problem… RAM usage during gameplay isnt excessive. I run battlefield 4 at x64 just fine.
I also moved the gw2 folder from my spare hdd to my boot ssd. Load times improved but still crashing. Not even getting the bug reports come up anymore….
Might just do a reinstall and see what happens.
Any help would be nice.
Running
windows 8 x64
q6600 quad core processor at 2.96ghz
6870 2gb xfx
4gb ballistix ram
Nothing else seems to have a problem, and i have put in over 100 hours of play before i reformatted pc and reinstalled gw2.
Now i can’t play for 5 mins without a crash…
I experience the same problem. Just started the game yesterday after some months and had the problems. deinstalled and reinstalled today still getting the same error. I lowered my graphics settings a little and could play for about five minutes. When returning to character select game crashed with exception: c0000005
I am just in the process of re-installing it onto my ssd drive which is my boot drive!
Keep the thread active and we might get some feedback. Every time i have crashed i have sent the error report when it gave me the option, with email included. Not had a reply as of yet.

Exactly the same thing here.
Installed the game again after ~6 months and the game keeps crashing.
Sometimes after 5 minutes, sometimes after 1 hour.
It doesnt matter if i am fighting, AFKing around in a city or in some regions where are not that many players.
GW2 is the only game with any problems for me.
Tried the re-install over DVD, download and the -repair thing with both.

It sound like you may have a defective SSD check with the manufacturers web sit to see if there is some app or way to test it. I think I read somewhere that you shouldn’t use scandisk or defrag on SSDs, also I assume you reinstall windows when you installed the new SSD did you get all the latest drivers including the common over looked motherboard drivers.
put the correct term in but not everyone has kittens
Why does no one actually look at the log before making suggestions?
Anyway, Windows is crashing, which results in the game crashing:

Unfortunately, that crash can be caused by just about anything from viruses to software conflicts or hardware failure. Maybe this website can help you find the problem:

Yes fresh install, yes i have all the latest drivers! I do it whilst doing all the windows updates. And GW2 was installed on my hdd, i have just deleted it and installed it on my ssd. Fresh install, not just moving the .exe folder.
I have a 120gb samsung EVO ssd, the software that comes with it. Samsung magician gives it 100% health with the latest firmware also installed.
Prior to this i was running it on windows 7, but now on windows 8. Which is the only problem i can come up with currently.

fresh install seems to have done it… been playing for 2 hours with nothing. It is on my ssd now, on the same drive as windows.
Yes the good old fresh install of windows, fixes everything, anymore it’s just best to reinstall window. Every time I can’t figure out what’s up with a system I just do a fresh install “problem fixed”. I would bet that over half the issues posted to this forum would be solved with a fresh install.

I’m getting this and the only thing that’s changed recently is an nvidia driver update. I smell culprit
Well well well…. after a solid 3 or 4 hours one day. Log in the next and im getting crashes again.

My game keeps crashing randomly at anytime, and not just the game, my computer. Does that mean I have a kittenty computer or just a kittenty setup?

@stefan & Pino,
For me, it was a fix for Total War: Shogun 2 that helped.
Do you have 4GB RAM and Windows 32bit?
It is something about virtual addressing and I’m a total noob about computer things, but I played 12 hours straight on the weekend and some smaller playtimes over the week.
Well, it didn’t crash again.
And i don’t know if this can help you, but I think its better than nothing.
E: With 2,5GB (like in the guide) it crashed once after like 5 hours, so I raised it to 3GB.
