the crashes are completetly random sometimes i can play for hours and sometimes i cannot even log in before i crash.

Check your gpu and cpu for overheating. If the entire pc(bsod) crashes then it very well could be a psu issue. Get some compressed air as well, dust kills

my GPU temp is around 40 when i play and CPU is around 40 also so i doubt it’s the heat that’s causing this and i cleaned the comp two days ago

updated your chipset drivers? Test your ram?

chipset updated and ram tested nothing wrong and still crashing

I’ve been experiencing a lot of crashing myself since last patch. Tried AMD’s GW2 profile and it crashed my computer and now I have blue screen and W7 is corrupt. :-(

can you reproduce the crashes using prime95, occt, furmarks and 3dmarks test for prolong periods?

I have similar issues with my M11X R1, and none of these problems happened for me since Headstart launch. My motherboard is also a week old, since it was replaced recently (same model), BUT these particular computer freezing crashes have been happening since Wednesday night (I can’t remember exactly, but they weren’t occuring at all after my motherboard was replaced-everything was in perfect working order.)

To top it off, no hardware issues are found anywhere in my computer. My memory is OK, my GPU doesn’t crashes with Furmark, everything seems to be great EXCEPT that GW2 crashes often ad repeatedly. Temps are normal. I lowered my details to minimum as a test, and then it worked for a long time (which makes me think that GPU is failing, BUT tests show otherwise); however, my last crash was with everything almost at minimum too (as far as I remember, I’ll check again just now.)

I wonder if the latest patch has conflicts with my video card? Nvidia GT 335M (it is a notebook computer, but one that runs GW2 no problem-it is also a dedicated, non-integrated video card) using the official Alienware drivers-no drivers/software was installed prior to these crashes, so I cannot pin it down to anything I did/installed.

SEEMS as if the latest patch is giving my computer trouble. Hope not many people have the same problem!

(-repair didn’t work, BTW; crashes still happen after the process was finished.)

There’s a huge number of players experiencing that problem. The problem seems to affect mainly systems that use Nvidia grafic-cards and the crashes usually occur during WvW or in loading screens. Some players have these problem since months (many since a november update) and there is still no reaction from anet…

prime95 only tested the CPU in a certain aspect. Try running all the other tools at the same time for a few hours.

To update my own case, I feel deeply offended by a tech representative that claimed my computer didn’t meet the minimum requirements, when it fact it exceeds them and these problems I’ve been having are all recent (earlier this week.) It seems to me the tech support had a quota to fulfill and dismissed my case as soon as possible without duly researching it. I HATE complaining, but I feel such behavior is quite unwarranted, especially since I was so proper/non-angry in my initial message to support. Why cannot they just care to help me with my problem, even if it takes more time for them to research it? Why must it be my computer’s fault when the tech didn’t know what to say/do? He proceeded to tell me what the minimum requirements are, which my computer meets. :/

In short, my computer started freezing while playing GW2 since two days ago-it used to be OK since launch, but is no longer the case, and all hardware tests come as OK. I need real help and not a prompt dismissal of my case?

You can try to use the ~repair function to see if that helps. Are you using a standard rpm hard drive or a SSD? If your using a mechanical harddrive try to defrag. If you have good cooling on that 2500k you can also overclock once you get these issues resolved

What is your Powersupply? I has similar issues and purchased a new PSU and problems were gone

Actually StarAce, the rep was right in a way.

The game is not certified for play on intel, geforce or ati laptop gpu’s.

One would expect these to run the game anyway, as long as they are in good condition, clean, etc.

But laptops have their own set of possible issues that are not as simple to rectify, as the bios’s provided are usually basic and do not allow much configuration change and modern laptops are barely user serviceable.
