So recently my comp has been crashing everytime I play GW2. I’ll be able to play from anywhere between 10mins-3 hours before it crashes. The screen will go black and the sound wll beep all crazy and then the comp will restart. Windows shows me the problem and says its bluescreen then shows a bunch of bcc codes which i have no idea what they are. So far i have scanned my system for viruses, reinstalled windows 7, reinstalled my graphics nvidia driver(and updated it), and reinstalled gw2. I have no idea what else i could do that might fix this. Really love this game though and would appreciate some help to fix it. I have almost no money, so paying to get it fixed or buying new parts is not an option right now =/

edit: should mention my comp has been running gw2 fine since release. and the computer itself is only 1 & 3/4 years old.

Post your .dmp file. Should be located in c:\windows\minidump.

To be honest if it is 2 fast beeps coming from tower and from the issue you’re describing it sounds like you are running out of memory. What are your computers specs? If not then hopefully one of these other players with more time can help. You may have some failing ram…

Another possibilty, is the inside of your tower dusty? It also sounds like an overhteating problem. Routine cleaning should be done. Use a can of compressed air for a couple dollars to clean it out a bit. Hope you get it fixed, and have fun.

@Trinity, goto control panel. Find performance, set it,to best performance. When I get home from work ill look up the exact path and steps, but atm on cell phone. Hope u understand.

Updated: If looking at control panel with small/large icons its Performance Information and Tools. If looking at categories its
System & Security > System > (On left side) Advanced System Settings > Advanced > Performance (click settings) > Select Adjust for Best Performance (This will change look of display if on Windows xp, Vista, 7) > Apply > Ok.

A shortcut to the Performance Settings : Right Click Computer > Properties > Advanced System Settings on Left > Follow above steps.

Hope this helps speed things up for you. Also, make sure you are not overheating.
Keeping your laptop cool is a very good habit to get into.

Routine cleaning by turning it off and unplugging, blow it out with a can of compressed air to remove dust and stuff from the fans.

so i havent been able to convert the mindump file yet so i can post it on the forums( was gunna ask my bros help to do that). but i left gw2 running yesterday and it didnt crash!!!!! I didnt change anything since the last time it crashed so i have no idea what was up. But im happy i can play again :]

ok sadly my comp started crashing again. I was able to play a lot yesterday without any crashes but today it now crashes everytime i play within 5 mins. I cant figure out how to post the minidump file as i cant attach dmp files. I cleaned my computer since but its still crashing.

dmp file points to the GPU or drivers. Go ahead and DL and install the newest directx and video drivers for your card. Also post your system specs will help.

My video card and directx are both up to date. My specs are windows 7, 4gb, 64 bit, Intel® core™ i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30GHz 3.30 GHz, graphics driver is nvidia geforce 430 version 320.49.

It’s weird that it only crashes during gw2, it has never once crashed when not playing gw2 =/

Does not matter if you have the newest, you uninstall and reinstall. The install the first time might have been bad. What are the GPU temps under load?

Yea i did a driver sweep then uploaded the drivers again but it still crashed. i figured out its the nvidia graphics card. I removed it and now gw2 doesnt crash. So im playing for now on low settings hoping the problem will get fixed in an update.

You also did not give full specs or model of your computer or list GPU temps, if you don’t supply info and just come back with “I yanked it out” no one will be able to help you. You are hoping that this is a problem gw2 has, when it is probably a hardware or software conflict or corrupt install of something.

Srry tried to giv u what u needed to help but im not computer smart, in fact im a total noob which is y i didnt provide u with full specs and used driver sweeper . And i took it out cuz i wanted to play gw2. And yes im hoping that its an issue that will be resolved by gw2 or nvidia as my graphics card and comp r fairly new. It would suk if im alrdy having hardware/software issues so soon :/
