Q:
Game re-downloading?
A:
Guild Wars 2 keeps all of it’s data files in a giant library file called GW2.DAT. If that’s the file you keep deleting/renaming, that’s going to force the game to redownload all of it’s data every time you launch it. There’s about 16GB of data in that file.
Wait! the start i was updating then my pc crashed then The Archive come then another crash
I delte the Dat File and it comes back when i launch and also when i rename it
I’m having the same issue. ZERO) problems last night. Logged out went to bed and when I got up this morning to log in it started redownloading the entire freaking game!!!!!
I didn’t delete ANYTHING.
I was in Malchor’s Leap. Game crashed soon after logging in. Had to ctrl-alt-delete to stop the game exe. Opened internet explorer, windows message saying that IE was experiencing problems and had to close. Started GW2 again.
GW2 said it needed to check the files, so it went into verification mode.
Then whole system crash to blue screen “stop” message. Rebooted to safe, then to normal windows.
Started GW2 yet again, and this time it started downloading the whole game from scratch. I didn’t delete anything.
