So I have been playing GW2 on my desktop since Friday. It worked fine the first day, then it started to crash my internet connection. I’ve been playing on my MacBook Pro, on the same wireless network with no problems.
I am using a TP-Link TL-WN851ND adapter. When I launch GW2 sometimes it plays normally and it’s just a bit laggy. But a lot of the time I will not be able to load, or it will kick me offline because the internet connection drops. It also lags so bad I am unable to play.
I ran the test provided to me by ANet and these are the results. At the moment I do not have access to my router to forward any ports. My roommates are both gone and I don’t know the password to the router itself.

^ I’ve used a WIFI network for … over 4 years now. I’ve never had problems like that, other than when the ISP is having serious issues, such as after a storm damages physical infrastructure (in which case the wired connections aren’t going to work, either).
@OP, I had issues with my router and had to reset it to factory default and then set up the wireless protection options again.
I don’t know much about networking, but it might be best to wait until someone can come and reset it. You could do this yourself with the little button on the machine – you would then be able to access it, put any password you want on it and on the network itself.

Yeah my isp was to blame aswell, but even when it did worked correct,my ping spiked like crazy in multiplayer games..i just didnt know how quick i had to get rid of it.And i have no real experience with wireless aswell,so sadly cant help the op any further..

Well if it’s the ISP I can do nothing about it. I am not the contract holder and my roommates are less than accommodating with helping with computer issues. But I play wireless on my macbook and have no problems. Apparently I’m just suffering from the same major problem everyone else is. Streaming Spotify in the background helped me stop disconnecting for now.

you should pay close attention to see whats dropping. If its the wifi, you can fiddling with antenna placement, angle, or some of the operational setting. If its the router/access point rebooting….. then it starts getting complicated….
There are also a handfull of cheap security suite programs that have seizures when exposed to high volume UDP, and cause every IP connection to reset. And this is why I never trust any anti-virus provided by your ISP, because its the cheapest marketing garbage they could get away with.

i have had the same problem it is the client itself completely disconnecting my wifi completely as if it resets my wifi card not 1 signal is findable and a red X its not losing connection its resetting you wifi card or adapter if it lost connection you still should see other available connections there are 12 around me and all i get is a big red X when this happens and this only happens playing gw2 and never once happened running any other client or program from what i see its the client this issue is only coming from when i play gw2 and i never have disconnects on any other game or program
