Guild Wars 2 my router+Hughesnet Error 7
Same issue here man, I run off of GCI in Alaska and the game runs clean when directly plugged into the modem. Now my issues are not as severe but I do get intense ability delay and rubberbanding just a few minutes aftering logging on with a connection via router. Like most cases the game ran perfect from launch but this started to occur about 3 weeks ago and i’ve just delt with it while hoping for a fix or someone discovering a solution. I’m patient and hopeful it will be resolved, but it just really sucks cause this game gots my attention in a choke hold.

I’ve had this issue since around launch, it did go away somewhere down the line and around the Karka Event, it started up and has escalated until now where I’m getting kicked out of the game anywhere from 5 minuets, to an hour. Along with Severe lag that comes and goes. That is of course, if I even manage to get to the character select screen, or logged in, which is rare.
No one has anything, then?
So, I’ve also sent this thread post to support. The response was some robotic message that I assume they cooked up without even reading my actual post, only skimming the stupid “pc cofiguration” thingy they always make you send in, stating my computer wasn’t up to spec. Which if they even took half a second to look over my presented issue, they might have caught that, my pc has -nothing- to do with the issues at hand, as I can play the game just fine on my college campus and when I plug directly into my modem.
Hi MohawkYeah.2178,
Can you check your configuration on your router for an option called SPI Firewall it may be named similar to this like Advanced Firewall, Stateful Firewall, SPI etc. If you have any of these options try disabling them for testing.
If the problem with Guildwars2 stops after this then the problem is because the built in Stateful Packet Inspection Firewall is blocking key packets from your GuildWars2 Client to the ArenaNet Login servers.
If this is true then possible next steps are:
1. Leave SPI disabled.
2. Check for a newer updated firmware for your router, perhaps it may resolve this issue.
3. Research custom firmwares available for your router model such as DD-WRT, Tomato, OpenWRT etc.
4. Buy a new Router, perhaps a different brand will implement SPI differently.
Good luck,
Nitro.
