Try plugging your laptop in directly to your modem or router using an ethernet cable to eliminate any issues that could be caused by the wireless network, then reinitiate the download.

Also try to right click the setup and select “Run As Administrator” and see if that helps.

Keep in mind that Guild Wars 2 will take roughly 20 GB of hard drive space on your computer when installation is complete. This puts you below the 10% free space recommendation post install. I would find things to delete or move to your external hard drive on your computer. Also your graphics capability is very close to min spec or below min-spec and you can expect performance issues in the game. The game may be playable but when lots of players congregate your computer will struggle.

Hi Meron – It looks like the issue here is that your Intel chipset isn’t supported to play. The installer has a sort of built in requirements check that will act exactly as you have described if your system doesn’t meet the requirements.

Some players have managed to get around this, however, ultimately may be out of luck here due to your system being below the required specs. The one thing I would recommend is updating your Intel video drivers as they appear to be dated for 2007. You can use Intel’s driver update utility below:

Hi guys,

I had this exact same problem last week (installation crashing at 10423kb) and have found a solution, also corresponding to what Ashley has recommended. I hope this works for you (sorry if my explanation is confusing). Here is what I did:

1) Go to your Windows search and type “Device Manager”
2) In Device Manager, click the tab called “Display adapters.” If you do not see the correct driver listed, for example, “NVIDIA GeForce 310M” (which is mine) and it says something “standard” you will need to go to your computer’s support site and download the correct driver from there.

My computer is a Samsung and I went here: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads

Turns out, even though I thought I updated my graphics card from here: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us, my computer still wouldn’t install the game.

I really hope this information helps you! Let me know if you need more clarification.

So I did everything suggested on many forums. I also updated all my drivers, including Ethernet and what not. And the game STILL stops downloading and remains at 0%. I did not have this issue when the game came out. I merely restored my laptop to factory settings, and this problem begins. I updated everything as I said. This is getting frustrating. I wanted to get back to gaming as soon as possible.

I’m seeing a whole lot of packet loss in the game advisor log. Also, you have a ton of LSPs in Winsock. It’s impossible for me to know exactly what the issue is (I can’t see your PC), but there are some things you can try:

1. Disable Windows Defender – it doesn’t usually play nice with antivirus programs.

2. Configure AVG as shown in this sticky:

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Configuring-AVG/first#post3961

3. Reset Winsock (sometimes it gets corrupted and will cause all kinds of strange network issues). The following also applies to Windows 7:

http://www.mydigitallife.info/repair-and-reset-windows-vista-tcpip-winsock-catalog-corruption/

4. Perform a clean boot to eliminate possible software conflicts – you have a lot of unnecessary startup programs:

http://support.turbine.com/link/portal/24001/24001/Article/88/How-do-I-perform-a-Clean-Boot-of-Windows

5. Power cycle your router.

Hopefully the above will clear up this issue for you.
