After your last patch I now have to go to my email and authenticate every single time I login to the game or these forums. Every single time I do it I check the Remember this address check box. I use DSL so my IP is different every single time. I am absolutely 100% sure that nobody else knows my password. I use a unique password for this game only and I receive the email a second after trying to login. Is there anything I can do so that I don’t have to go through this every time I want to play or post in these forums? What can I do?

You just mentioned why it does this. Either use a router or get a static IP.

Sorry I should have mentioned but I do use a router. So why is it still asking for authentication? Also, when I log into the game it asks for one but then when I try to log into the fourms it asks again and then it gets all mixed up. I just got through clicking allow 2 times just so I could get into this forum also. They all came from the same place and all right after I tried to log into the forums.

It seems your router is not keeping the IP.

I have AT&T DSL and I have to authenticate every few days (as the IP from AT&T changes more often than I would think it should), but not every time… side hijack, if I say Remember, does it forget the one before so that whoever has my old IP can’t use it (though the odds would be fairly remote anyhow)? However, it is only every few days, or after power outages.

But if you are losing IP between the game and getting into the forums, then there is a router or modem issue. Is the IP actually changing each time? The email should include the IP, if it is changing each time then something is likely set wrong on the modem or the router (if they are different). I would guess you have the the modem in bridge mode and the router handling details (the only way I could access the Internet for my setup). If so make sure the router is set to stay logged in (connection mode always on… you could set it to manual, set the timer to a day or week, then set back to always on). If the modem itself is handling the login, then the way to access it should be on the bottom of the modem… but give the details Kalec asked for first…

Hi, I also use ATT SBC and I had to put the modem in bridged mode also, it was absolutely the only way I could get any kind of internet connection. I can do alot on the pc but I know absolutely nothing about networking and I"ve had to call their reps so many times it’s not even funny. Finally the last time some guy got my connection working but only after putting it in bridged mode. I wouldn’t doubt there’s something wrong with the way I’m connected. They gave me the wrong passwords several times and each time I tried to hook it up their way it never worked. I have no idea how we got it going last time. Not to mention I can’t figure out where I put my router password I wrote down : ( I’m writing down the ip address each time now to see if it’s the same. It seems to flip between 3 or 4 different cities though.

The router is a Linksys by Cisco Wireless G (I’m using wires though) WRT310N and the modem is a Motorola 2210
Network card is Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller. Pretty much what my pc came with. Haven’t bought a decent one. I can’t seem to find out anything else about it. That’s all device mgr says.

I was just able to log into the game without having to hit accept in my email again. I’ll watch that too. Doing it for the fourms did it this time.

I am having the same problem, I have a Router, we have Frontier for carrier, Fronter’s Westell router. This thing really gets under my skin though having to go through a long drawn out process just to log in. An authenticator would be much better, and I would pay for one.
