I´ve been playing guild wars 2 since the headstart, and a while after release the game was running fine. Now the game began to stutter alot, like every 10 seconds or so the game drops to 5 fps for about 3 seconds and it’s really annoying. My computer is pretty much above average and exceeds the recommended requirements to play the game and this only started happening a while ago

My specs are:
AMD FX-8120 OCed @ 4.4GHz
ASUS M5A99XEVO Motherboard
XFX HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 OCed
8 GB DDR3 1866MHz RAM
750W PSU from SILENCER

This problem is certainly new to me.
The only ting I could suggest though is reinstalling the game or something…

There are no recommended requirements for this game, only minimum requirements…and those only tell you if the game launches. I will agree though, you are getting much worse frames than you should.

First thing is first, lets step back down to stock clocks on everything and make sure your overclock isn’t messing something up.

In my experience with FX 8210 it tends to get very very hot when overclocked so it may be throttling down to prevent damage. Are you using an aftermaket cooler? If so check your temps anyways you may still be suffering from overheating due to a faulty installation or usage of incorrect amount of thermal compund. Also check your CPU’s behavior when you stutter does it change frequency and load? There were some tools to monitor it aside from windows resource monitor but i cant recall.

PS: Reread the OPs problem. If this has surfaced lately your thermal compound may be crying for a renewal as I said check if any overheating and thermal throttling going down in the system.

Actually now that this is mentioned my processor did the same thing on high overclocks. They weren’t stable so it throttled down to 1.4 GHz so I had awful frames. This may be the cause.
