How is download speed measured
Ok, First I know its Megabit and not Megabyte, Second I am wondering how the downloader in the launcher measures download speed? I suspect MB and not Mb but would like some confirmation.
try asking google. however, a hint: it dont matter as long as you convert it correctly to what you want to read it as.
Well the launcher shows 1.17MB/s That equates to about 8 or 9 Mb/s Ran a speedtest while downloading and I still have about 3 Mb overhead left

1Mbps/s is bandwidth
1MB/s file size downloading a second
More bandwidth = higher download speed HOWEVER if the site you are downloading from limits you then it becomes irrelevant.
The patcher could be strained and only allowing you to download at 1.17MB/s.
but how would that be done? Only way I can really think of is ISP Throttle.
