Q:
I just bought a new pc and it hasnt arrived yet but i do wonder how much better it will perform in WvW compared with my old i7 920 @ 3.8.
I run 1080p everthing maxed but shadows on low along with those 2 “new” wvw graphic options both on low too (not lowest) and the min avg fps i see most of the times in HUGE battles is like around 10~20fps, i think i’v seen in a couple situations like 5 fps min but that was rare.
So what kinda fps can i expect in HUGE battles with those settings on a 4770k @ 4.5?

I would expect little increase in FPS not a huge increase beucase the game is still highly unoptimized to fully take advantage of todays hardware. They only way to know for sure is when you get your new system and play the game.
my i5 3570k Oc to 4,5 with a geforce gtx 670 get me around 15fps with all maxed. But i play with character quality to lowest in wvw, i win around 15fps just with this option in big zerg (compare to low).
@ 4.5 I would say you will not be limited by the cpu for anything, that’s for sure (Outside of multithreaded uses wherein 6cores/12threads would be of use)
What vid card do you have coming with your prebuilt?

no video card coming on this pc, already got a gtx 780.
its a good store btw, they even gona do the OC for me.
They used to sell all the 920,s @ 3,6 in the past, never seen any1 doing that

As a tip, it’s best to overclock yourself so you know the values and if something goes wrong, you understand how to easily adjust.
Places like that sell “OC” services for people who can’t take 1minute of their time to do it themselves and want to pay the extra $20+ for literally nothing.
Seeing that you have a 780 I really wouldn’t worry about lag in GW2. I haven’t seen any lag on the 780 HoF I have.

well i did like their oc on the 920 as i didnt know how to do long time ago. thos time waz me who asked for the oc, they charge nothing, i dont feel comfortable on gbis nrw platform and i rather leave it for the pro.
about losing values…. they use to leave it saved on the bios so…

It’s not about BIOS settings being saved. What I’m saying is if you get your pc (I’m guessing from ibuypower, cyberpower or another similar company), and it starts crashing randomly, what are YOU going to do? More than likely call the company because you don’t know what’s wrong…. Whereas it could be from a simple voltage configuration that you didn’t feel like reading up on so now you have to go through a hassle with tech support, then possible RMA of the entire system.
Way too much hassle whereas if you learned about overclocking (which is actually quite simple), you could troubleshoot issues for yourself and be ready to go whenever something may appear. If you have whatever company it is oc it for you, I would highly recommend reading up on overclocking of Haswell.
Right so it’s good to assume everyone knows how to OC their processor yeah mhmm — I’d happily pay the extra 10-20 dollars to have my processor overclocked by 1 GHz or a little more because I’m quite inexperienced with it. Sure you can google it, but why not just have it arrive already done? I’d go for it personally. I mean, sure not everyone will because they can do it themselves but some people don’t want to mess with that sort of thing.
Also yes the i7 4770K even at 4.5 GHz will see some frame loss, but only in huge player events like extremely populated world boss events or wvw especially. It won’t be hardcore drops but it’ll still be playable. 20-30 fps is playable in my books.

You completely skimmed over what I said. Re-read, having it come overclocked already, much less a 1GHz overclock, will come with voltage adjustments be it on 1 or more values for CPU/RAM, if something were to HAPPEN as far as constant crashes, slowdowns, shutdowns, anything. What you just mentioned justifies what I already said, if you don’t know anything about overclocking and are too lazy to read up, YOU will be the one going through hassle of RMA’ing an entire desktop (of course if it came to it) due to an issue you could have prevented.
Again I will say, why go through that hassle?
Also, what happens if you keep the pc for over a year and the voltage the company set it to forced your processor to degrade through the next year, and it meant simply upping the vcore a little to compensate for the company essentially screwing you? You would be lost yet again and possibly think you need new parts. There’s just so many factors that can be prevented, which is what I’ve been getting at.
My mistake. I had only read your first post where you mentioned nothing of the possible problems of having the company OC it for you.
