Is there a fix in sight? This is becoming a joke. Why should I log on when I know for certainty that my game will crash within 30 mins? And I am clearly not the only one. The forums are filled with players experiencing identical issues.
After posting Crash Reports, DxDiags, and the logs from anet Advisor thing….most people are told that they need to update drivers. It’s not an issue with our PCs when every other game works. It’s a GW2 issue.
No news has been released on the issue other than to say ‘we know’ and no fix appears to be coming any time soon.
I’m tempted to just give my game to someone else.
Deeply frustrated…

Nvidia 306.02 drivers here high FPS no crashes.
There are more people out there who have no such issue and dont see the need to post about how well it runs. The ones who have issues , post about it. So no the majority is not having issues and if you own a nvidia card it does not garantee problems.
I understand you frustration but if you need help i suggest a slightly different posting style.

No really….??
You where the one claiming that no nvidia card runs this game properly.

Yeah this is a joke. I just built this pc from scratch all new parts and this is happening. But, on my backup crappy pc the game runs fine. I bought 3 copies of this game for friends and family and I’m seriously considering finding another gift.

Basically the game is running much worse on Nvidia GPUs than their AMD equivalent.
Also if you have high end Nvidia hardware such as 680GTX running in SLI expect performance to be WORSE then running a single card. There are also many reports of just bad performance on 600 series cards in the Low FPS thread. There are many issues at the moment with Nvidia cards.

6x series does indeed have issues specific to it. The same problem with the 6x cards has been going on in TWS since its launch.
Same goes for SLI setups. If it is not yet supported or support for SLI is not finalized you get worse performance as usual .

I have a GTX 660ti, everything maxed out including supersampling I usually get no less than 40 FPS. Even in the most crowded and graphic intensive areas of the game.
That is being overclocked to 1304mhz core and 3580mhz memory.
Now don’t get me wrong. This is the only game I get less than 60 fps on, even BF3 is 60 FPS maxed out. Then again BF3 and most other games don’t have as many objects on the screen at once or as much overall area needing to be rendered.
I am sure anet is still working on further optimizing the game for performance, but personally 40 FPS is plenty for me in a game that looks this good.

I haven’t had any troubles with GW2 and i’m running a Gigabyte GTX 670OC 2GD(Link to it if you really want to see the specs on it http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4211#ov) I also downloaded one of the beta/legacy drivers when GW2 was downloading and said that my card has issues (link to the Nvidia website where you can get the driver http://www.geforce.com/drivers/beta-legacy) it told me to download a specific driver (GeForce 304.79 Driver – BETA) after getting this specific update i’ve never had a trouble running GW2 at 100+FPS (I have a 120Hz monitor so don’t start on it’s only 60+) i think it goes higher then 100 but i can’t record it.
I hope this does help other users

THeres something wrong with the Reflections setting it seem, enabling it gives a small fps loss, thats not the main problem, but the game suddenly stutters while my fps maybe only dropped by 3 fps with enabling reflections on ALL,it’s feels weird so i rather disable reflections all together and then my game feels smoother, while basically having the same fps.I can even use supersample if i disable reflections ( you wont even notice that reflections is disabled btw, normal reflections still work ). I really really think arenanet still needs to optimize the crap out of this game, plus some support from nvidia would sure fix this to allow us with higher end systems to finally take benefit from this.

Your right about that and im pretty sure it is the priority for Anet at the moment.
Its like with the launch of ‘Rage’ id soft was banking on the driver versions they received internally from ATi and nvidia to be available to the public at the launch of their game. The game and the driver was developed in co-op with both nvidia and ati intensivly.
It def. looks like this is still not finished and not every config is acounted for considering the wide range of results people are getting like some having great perofrmance like myself and others with the same or even better hardware have worse performance.
The reflections on my system are on full and make a huge huge difference in visuals compared to low even let alone off. if anyone has no issues with reflections on full i say leave them on for sure.
‘Reflections’ do not just pertain to water or mirrors or obvious things like that it is in effect all over the gameworld.

Great. More whining. Game doesn’t give you 200 FPS 150% maxed out like Call of Battlefield Duty does? Waaah waah waaah cry me a river. Step 1: Update your drivers to the latest STABLE release. Always a good idea. Screw that beta stuff. Step 2: Use the recommended setting for your system and adjust from there. Where do you find the recommended setup for your system? Run ‘Auto Detect" in Graphics Options. It was put there for a reason. Use it. You’re looking for the optimum balance between eye candy and FPS. Not every game has to be turned all the way up all the time. Besides, the human eye can’t tell the difference much beyond 50 FPS anyway.
Edit: sits back and waits for TL;DR and being called a fanboy etc etc
Re-edit: I apologize for the off-topic rant. I’m sure Anet will have everything working in due time

I’m with the OP, I dont think there are individual machine issues with people. Seems like the game isn’t optimized for as many configs as it should be.
My bane seems to be the Norn Home City, every time I enter I have to set all my graphics to low or the game crashes. Same happens in certain water areas where i know if i go there on high graphics i’ll crash. The game clearly seems to have issues.
I do get a kick out of so many people asking “have you updated your drivers”, that should be second nature to every PC gamer.

From what I remember from the GW2Guru forums someone said Borderlands 2 optimizations were causing delay of the driver release which also contains GW2 optimizations. I do still think that either nVidia or ArenaNet have to give an official response about these issues (Also running the Gigabyte GTX 670 card) I tried all drivers from the first to the latest beta driver for the 6xx series and all of them cause my pc to randomly reset itself. People keep hammering it down to hardware failure while stress testing it and playing other games give no issues at all.

I will start with basic machine specs:
CPU: Core I7 3770k overclocked @4 GHZ
Ram: G Skill Ripjaw 32 GB DDR3 1600
GPU: Nvidia Gforce 580 (stock settings) 3072 MB
HDD: OS and game on 2 SSD 240 GB Raid 0
PS: (dont remember brand) 750w
MB: Gigabyte Z77x-UD5H (blows, considering changing as it has an unspecified random freezing problem)
On absolute max settings and with supersampling on I get 60-120 FPS everywhere including WvWvW (although ive done very little WvWvW). I never crash with the exception of 2 times that were completely random and that is due to a MB glitch I have). I can run GW2 for like 10 hours straight with no crashes.
I upgraded to the 306 beta drivers, and it ran great, no crashing. However, I noticed blinking geomtry that it disappears then reappers if depending on the camera angle.
Rolling back to the 305 official drivers (dont remember exact numbers, at work atm)
has anyone else had this issue?
Edit: I actually still have this issue on the officially supported drivers, but it is much less frequent

Not sure this is an HD 6870 issue – I’ve never had a problem with mine and many people using it seem to be getting better results than the equivalent nVidia card.
There is an issue with a certain brand of routers – maybe check that out ?

I have nVidia 550Ti GTX and it runs really smooth with beta drivers installed.
I’m getting around 60 FPS in PvE and around 30 FPS when I’m in fights in W3.
Before I installed the beta drivers the game was running really slow and it had alot of graphical issues like terrain flickering, water not displaying properly and some texture details on characters as well.
Now it’s running like a charm.

I only use Vsync if my FPS is always 60+,If not then the drops into 40 50 can be pretty noticable and annoying,in this game i have it always disabled eventhough my fps ranges from 50 – 110 it does occasionaly drop into 40 and with vsync on i get alot of stuttering and this makes the game feel slow.

I have a GTX 670 and didn’t have any problems (latest stable drivers). The only thing I noticed was, when you enable the framerate limiter via the drivers, you shouldn’t enable the in game framerate limiter, because the effect seems to multiply (or something like this).

I just got a brand new Nvidia GTX 660 Ti a couple of days ago and like everyone else I was crazy frustrated with frame rate drops, they were just ridiculously aweful to the point of not even being able to play the game for more then 30 minutes.
I’m using all the updated drivers (306.02) and i was still getting terrible drops and glitching.
I managed to solve the problem by overclocking the card. If you try this and don’t know what you’re doing please be careful because you CAN ruin your graphics card if you set things crazy high. This program is pretty nice in that it limits what you can set your stuff at if you’re really worried unset the auto fan controller and crank it way up to prevent overheating.
