Is Chrome crashing GW2?
After looking over error logs, I think the problem may be ATI Catalyst Control Center. I’m disabling this now and seeing if anything happens over the next few days.
Chrome is a good browser, but it’s also a giant memory hog in my experience. I’ve seen it happily eat up more than a gigabyte of my system’s memory, which is part of the reason I switched from it to IE10 when I installed Windows 8. While high memory usage probably wouldn’t be an issue on a system with 16GB of RAM, there’s a small chance that one of your RAM sticks has an issue and the combined memory load of Chrome and GW2 is pushing things onto that and causing crashes.
You could try running Memtest86 and checking to make sure all of your RAM is good. It’s an outside possibility, but that’s the only thing I can think of. If it’s crashing a lot even when you avoid using Chrome, it’s more likely to be confirmation bias than anything.
Game just crashed again – black screen with stuck audio. Event viewer logged this:
Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHEkittengetInstance ISA "Win32Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace “//./root/CIMV2” because of error 0×80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.
gw2 crash shockwave all the time
I run chrome all the time and leave it open playing guildwars2 and so far no crashing so Im not sure its chrome.

Thankfully it’s not a virus. – Here’s the solution as it relates to Windows 7. – http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-US;2545227
Thank you everyone!
