Should the AMD Athlon II X4 645 quad-core processor run the game smoothly at lowest graphic settings?

It scores 1070. Smoothly in what areas? If you are just questing in PVE it will be fine 30-60fps. But Cities/Heavy WvW it will suffer 10-25fps

I would say no. You want at least triple your cpu score.

I play on a Athlon II X3 440 and I’m doing just fine.
Sure huge WvW fights and crowded cities (such as Lion’s Arch) get kinda laggy (WvW can transform into a slideshow), but you’ll do alright. In small scale PvP (sPvP, tPvP, WvW skirmishes) I get a solid 60 fps so I wouldn’t worry about your CPU.

But make sure your GPU is also adequate, and that you have enough RAM.

My apologies, I didn’t know the link/score given here was to the Single Core Benchmark. I’m pretty in tune with looking at the number and just knowing, vs total processor speed. 1000 would suck for total. Your CPU is 3000+ total, that will run it pretty well. I have one Q6600 25% weaker then the AMD, it runs pretty well. Larger PvP battles it will be stressing. A overall CPU score approaching 9000 would be ideal.

The ideal cpus for this game from both manufacturers would be the following:

AMD: FX-8350
intel: i5-3570K

I even have a video showing the general game performance (i.e. PVE and City) fps featuring both of these cpus at stock speeds.

Big lie. I run Q6600 and it doesnt not run well in pvp or overall. Or if u consider 30-35max fps good. Ofc u get good fps if u look at the ground.

Gotta overclock the Q6600 like i did to 3.2Ghz. Paired with a decent GPU you can run 40-60fps PVE/PVP fine. Its only heavy WvW where its gets crippled.

I get 40’s, I consider that pretty well, which I dunno means well often, but sometimes not so much. I stated in PvP is will stress. I have a slower dual, that I would say bothers me, it’s more of a 30 fps and it would die in large PvP, I am wanting to upgrade that unit for sure. This game is a pig. So take your big lie and tone it down sparky.
