He’s right. I don’t think I’ve ever had a connectivity issue since the first week of the game’s launch until now.

Same thing’s happening to me. I deleted my Guardian to turn around and make a new one. That was two hours ago and it’s still not working. :L

i know, i deleted a lvl 23 warrior, myself. i would have purchased a new character slot, but the trading post wasnt working when i tried to.

i think its funny and ironic that when someone tries to have some compassion and ease the irritation of others, those others automatically assume ulterior motives and intrigue…

Not resolved for me. Creating a character produces network error, 1010:6:6:419:101.

Issue does indeed seem to be back. Deleted my character, spend ages making a new one. And now i get error codes at the final stage of creating the character.

Well, glad to see I wasn’t alone on this. Somewhat. It’s still irritating regardless. I wanted to make a new character and I cannot. Sigh.

On another note, trying to go to support leads me to a warning message saying that Firefox can’t actually tell if the connection is secure, and that someone could be trying to impersonate the support site. Doesn’t happen on the forums at all. Anyone else seen that too?

character create was fine yesterday, but today i want to make a new character its not letting me. same error code 42:0:0:0:101

This is pathetic. Hard to believe this isn’t a top priority issue.

also having this issue. Decided to reroll a character and now can’t complete the process. Not cool.

this was an issue upon first release as well. so it suggests to me that they have issues when large amounts of people try to make new toons. too bad it seems they have only patched the issue with the hopes no one would notice. they need to do a proper fix and get it done with. not being able to make a char doesnt make a good first impression on new players.

I just bought the game digitally and downloaded the whole thing, now I’m having this issue as well. I’d like some sort of statement as to whats going on, more than “Looking into it”, if I can’t play the game within an hour, or some sort of post explaining the issue further, I’ll be doing a chargeback on my credit card.

It would be nice to have some indication of how long its gonna take to fix this. So i’ll know wheter i should sit here staring at my creation screen or turn it off and try again tomorrow.

I just bought the game and tried creating my new character but I’m getting the same error as everyone else. Is there an estimated time when this will be fixed?

I just bought the game last night and let it install over night. I am on a Mac so I thought that was the issue, but I’m glad to see other people are having the same issue so I’m not the only one in the boat. I can’t create my first character to play at all and that is very sad. I’m eager to play!

im also having the same issue, ive tried restarting the game a few times and evan went as far as restarting both the router and computer a few times nothing. can we please get some help with this issue Anet, if so many people are having problems its not us its you

How aggravating is that? I spent so much time trying to troubleshoot it, restarting my computer and re-customizing my character… turning off my firewall……. when it could all just have been avoided had someone posted some sort of message on the main home screen that said “Character Creation has been disabled while we fix an error, we apologize yadda yadda yadda”… but nope. It’s your problem. Your internet is down, might even be your firewall! If you just bought it, do a chargeback, each chargeback is a nuisance to companies to fight so you’ll get your money back, plus it reflects poorly on a vendor if they have a lot. Only way the consumer can stick it to a company nowadays.

I’m guessing that the necessary server is down or lost connectivity. Wonder if anyone is working on this, and if so, do we have an ETA?

Agreed, we really need some word on this. I picked up the game yesterday and so far its been one of the most atrociously irritating setups I’ve ever had to deal with.. And this is from a game celebrating its one year anniversary, not something I am beta or alpha testing. The lack of communication is already beginning to wear on me, and making me strongly consider just getting a refund and ignoring GW2 from now on.

Bought Guild wars for first time now. Been through 2 errors, and still haven’t created a character… Starts great! (y) :-)
