About 2 months ago, i was getting 40+ fps, now when i run it, i’m getting 4-7 fps, i’ve switched everything to low, uninstalled gfx cards drivers and reinstalled latest/older versions. Updated my bios and motherboard drivers, did a full re-install of GW2, and I’m STILL getting terrible fps, i’ve been through the forums, trolled google, and still not found anything, please could anyone help, i would love to play gw2 but its completely unplayable!

Edit: also remove local.dat as well.

Lets make sure that the hardware isn’t overheating. If you don’t already have software that monitors the temperatures of your GPU and CPU, I recommend getting HWMonitor which can be found here:

What’s your OS, runewolf? I’ve run GW2 on Windows 7/8 and Linux (all 64-bit). I’ve only encountered FPS that low under Linux recently. Another question is (assuming 64-bit Windows) how much paging memory do you have set. For reference, I’m running the game on:

Asus K55N
AMD A8-4500 APU (graphics portion’s AMD Radeon HD 7640G) CPU clock speed’s 1.9 GHz (2.8 for Turbo Core)
Altec Lansing speakers
4 GB DDR3 1600 MHz RAM (jumping to 8GB, once the second stick arrives)
8-10 GB paging memory

The major issue I could guess is probably the difference in our respective RAM.
Past that, AMD’s Turbo Core is less finely controlled than Intel Turbo Boost. In general, I should not -logically- have that much better FPS on a laptop than you get from -I would assume- a desktop system.

Both Gpu and CPU are running at stable temperatures and not overheating, i monitored them straight away, its as soon as i get into the game. I’m also running this on windows 7 64bit. Its only since i patched the framerate has dropped through the floor!

I got one more idea, lets make sure the graphics card is in the proper PCIe slot on your motherboard (normally closest to the CPU), and make sure it’s reading all 16 lanes of bandwidth available to it. GPU-Z has the ability to easily monitor this. Normally when the graphics card is idle/not doing much, it will read 1.1 @ x4 or something of the like, then when you start using the graphics card, it should jump to 2.0 @ x16. If its not, you might need to reseat your graphics card on your motherboard.
