whats cheeper to buy if they had the same specs? a desktop or a laptop?

Also, can somebody post a laptop or desktop that can play this game because i wasted a bit of money on what i have now and it wont play it well i don’t want it to lag when theirs a lot going on the screen i just want it to run smooth, but i don’t wanna spend money on a proper gaming laptop/desktop that play kitten HD games, if it can play guildwars 2 im sure i’l be fine with whatever else i play.

i would appreciate it so much.

Desktop will be cheaper then your laptop. Esp if you build the desktop yourself.
Laptops that play this game come in many flavors, ranging from sub 400 up past 2,000.

For Desktop, Playing at 1080p on High to Medium settings (Medium for WvW) you can build a G3220 or i3-4330 + 8GB of ram(2×4GB) and a R7-260x or Nvidia 750Ti for around 550~. And that will play the game very nicely.

For a laptop, a HP DV6t with a i7-2630QM+HD6770+8GB ram(2×4GB)+1080p can play the game on high to medium settings at 40-50FPS. And that will cost you 650~ if you are lucky.

Both of the above are medium to low end builds (the DV6 containts parts that are 3years or older), Better Laptops will have 760M, 770M, 850M, 860M, hD7870M…ect. But the cost also goes way up too.

just to give you a baseline.

Desktop: 4790k@4.6ghz-1.25v, AMD 295×2, 32GB 1866CL10 RAM, 850Evo 500GB SSD
Laptop: M6600 – 2720QM, AMD HD6970M, 32GB 1600CL9 RAM, Arc100 480GB SSD

Desktop is usually the best choice for gaming in general. If you need to upgrade one part, you can do it easily. For a laptop, you’d need to buy a brand new one for a hardware upgrade. Laptops also get their graphic cards updated less frequently than desktops.

I will say this: I play GW2 on a laptop, and only on very few occasions does it give issues. I’m a college student and I move about the campus a lot, so getting a laptop > desktop. GW2 with a non-gaming laptop is very possible, just that desktop is superior in every other aspect.

Desktop hardware is more powerful for the price than laptop. Bonus points for being able to upgrade and replace broken items.

If you’re set on a laptop, don’t get one with a GPU any lower than a GTX 765M. The 760M is an incredibly neutered chip. The 765M is one step higher than a GTX 670Mx which still performs fairly well.

For better performance – go to Desktop PC.

But I prefer laptop because of mobility – I use it even in bathroom.

Just go to the nearest PC shop and choose / try one.

The most important thing is the Color Rendering.

What?

Anyways, desktops are better for gaming and have lower cost for the same performance of a laptop. Just build your own desktop or choose the parts then let the retailer assemble it for a small fee. I an help you with choosing parts of you are interested.
