Hi,

Since the new patch is live whenever I click the play button my laptop will shutdown nearly immediatly as soon as the game starts loading.
The morning before the patch this was all fine.
Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening?

Can you provide us with the specifications of your computer please? CPU/GPU/RAM are the important ones.

This sounds a lot like overheating, or a power problem. I think it’s just a coincidence that it happened after a patch.

I have been playing guildwars 2 fine on my laptop since release.

Specs are

i5@2.5 Ghz
radeon 7730 card
4gb’s of ram.

I did recently install windows 8. Basically i’m playing on a fresh install.

Just to be on the safe side, like was mentioned above, you should check your GPU and CPU temperatures. If you don’t already have software that monitors your CPU and GPU temperatures, then I recommend getting HWMonitor, which can be found here:
