The game launcher opens and then I log in. When I click the red play button on the bottom right. the launcher just closes and nothing happens. Even in the processes section in the task manager it closes. I already tried re-installing and trying the -repair in the shortcut. I am almost certain my drivers are up to date: GeForce 320.49. I have played this game a while ago and this never happened.

If any of this info helps here are some of my system specs:
GeForce GTX 560 ti
Windows 7 64 bit
Intel Core i7-2700K GPU @3.50 GHZ

Run as administrator, disable antivirus/firewall/security software, delete local.dat (my documents/guild wars 2). Install all windows updates, even optional ones, double check drivers or perform a clean install of them.

No good?

Try running msconfig, disable all startup programs, restart comp, test gw2. If good, you have a conflicting program in that list. You can re-enable by repeating and restarting.

Post back and let us know how you go.

I have tried all of the above top paragraph. Running msconfig, disabling all startup programs makes the gw2.exe on the task manager last a few second longer.

Are you getting any crashes? Do you have a crash log available? (ArenaNet.log under my documents/guild wars 2)

If anything recent in there, could you post it using more posting & formatting options below.

after you follow these instructions OP it will be nice to read your dxdiag log file .

(To find your DxDiag, Start>Run and type ‘DxDiag’ without the quotation marks and ‘Save all Information’ )
