I haven’t been having any problems for quite some time, but today suddenly Lion’s Arch is causing my computer to shut off completely. I am not getting this problem anywhere else so far, even though I’ve played for many hours. In Lion’s Arch I seem to last only for a couple minutes before my computer shuts down.

check your system temps, I would bet your cpu or chipset is overheating…….
since this has happened run a checkdisk on each drive
start>run>cmd “chkdsk /f” “y” restart
if you have more then one hdd/partition “chkdsk /f d:” where d is the drive letter for each drive you need to check, que all drives that need checked, restart and let windows check them…..

I have been logging my temperatures with HWmonitor, but I have not noticed any very high spikes or anything of that sort. My cpu seems to get to 80 C max and my gpu 70 C max. I have done a chkdsk also, no errors found.

Lion Arch is computationally pretty stressing area in gw2.
Read Q17 & Q18, it might help you. Reading the other Q’s could help you troubleshoot further.

80c ? thats definetely overheating !! You can seriously damage your hardware if you keep on playing and this continues to happen.I would really try to look for a better way of cooling it.

80c is max temp for an intel chip, really the goal most go for is trying to keep temps below 60c.

I was trying my best to melt my cpu, and the new halloween Lion’s Arch was doing its best to help me do that.
It is sad how easy it was for me to fix the problem, and ridiculous that I didn’t do it earlier.
I cleaned the dust off my heatsink… and now I can’t get above 50 C on my cpu, even while watching videos and playing GW2 at the same time.
My computer is stable again.

What a little dust can do
Good to see you have your issue resolved though.
