It keeps giving me error code 42:1000:7006:852 when I try to log-in.

I have not been able to log-in for a few hours now, I keep getting this same error code. I don’t know if the actual log-in servers are down or if this is specifically related to my account or ISP/router. I’ve never had this problem before. There do not appear to be any signs of my account being tampered with so I’ve written off a hijacking as a possibility. Is this happening to anyone else? My friend logged in just fine and is playing right now, but maybe it sent him through a different log-in server or something.

I was playing just fine yesterday, all of this has happened after downloading the most recent patch.

I think this is happening to me as well man. Because yesterday I was able to get on just fine, stopped for a bit, then after returning to play I think 15 minutes later it won’t let me log on because apparently my password is wrong or something, and it’s the same one I’ve been using just fine since launch.

The only reason why I don’t think I’m getting hacked is because I’m still able to log onto the site. The only way I can’t is if I re-type my password.

Would like to know what is going on.

Same stuff here (same error code).
Since some time (i had some break due to changing flats and such) I have strange graphical issues (like invisible items in menu or transparent menus). I admit that now there are less annoying that it used to be 3 – 4 days ago. Game is very likely to hang and when it does I have mentioned by my predecessors error code and cannot enter the game. It seems that after first game I experience more graphical glitches sound screws up tottaly and after some time game crashed causing computer to hang permanently

It is really getting more and more annoying. Few weeks ago game was running smoothly and there were no reasons to complain.

Having this exact problem right now. Had a random game client crash right after I had just hit 80 and was about to finish my first Orr temple boss. Boss was down and the last few champs were being cleaned up and bam, kicked out and can’t get back in… Not happy right now.

Ok, it seems that I’m not the only one, then. I also keep getting error 42:1000:7006:852 over the last 10-15 minutes or so and can’t log in.

… and as misteriously as it appeared, the problem is gone. For me, at least.

if you go to your email there should be an authentication email that should help you, mine was in junk folder after I had this same error code. you may have changed location or something that is probably why hope this helped

I’m having this now for an hour or so, i could login and play earlier today, i took a break for launch and stuff and now this. I had some crashes last night, but nothing serious. Tried to verify the client, it didn’t work… No authentication email, as i’ve already verify this network…

Had this for hours now, no reply from support yet either, but I’m aware that it is Sunday, still sucks tho, I’ll be patient and wait out.

It’s really just too bad, i played a few hours ago and i haven’t changed anything on my computer. Guess i’ll wont be able to log in for a day or so at least. Well guys lets hope the best.

It’s strange this problem is not common, actually its really rare. Other than this forum i couldn’t find anything related to this problem.

EDIT:
Don’t bother reinstalling the client, i’ve deleted every registry / file / folder related to guild wars, so it’s not that…

1. Navigate to your Guild Wars 2 installation folder.

2. Right-click on “GW2.exe” and select “Create Shortcut.”

3. Rename this shortcut to “Guild Wars 2 Port Test.”

4. Right-click on this shortcut and select “Properties.”

5. Edit the “Target” line to include /clientport 80 at the end.

Note: Please make sure /clientport 80 is outside of the quotes

Correctly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe” /clientport 80
Incorrectly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe /clientport 80”

6. Once completed, click “Ok” to save your changes.

If you get an error trying to save, your target line may not have the correct format. Please try step 5 again.

7. Double click “Guild Wars 2 Port Test” and try connecting again.

This is from an ANet official, so go ahead and do it, worked for me. Enjoy.
