Low FPS because of the visual range.
People are actually complaining they can see too far? All WvW’rs have been doing is they can’t see far enough! Although a LoD and draw distance slider would be much appreciated. Unfortunately there is no easily accessible config file for GW2. Everything’s saved in a encrypted file for settings.

Well ofc it’s okay if they could look even farther, but to regulate it wouldn’t be bad at all. I mean not everyone got a high-end computer :P.
Hm okay, thanks for the information. Still hoping they will make it available ^^
I agree, abscence of visual range customization kills the playebility of GW 2 for low-mid range CPU’s. You’re practicaly forced to play on max visual range all the time and it lag’s like hell. For example in Skyrim or even in such unoptimized game like Lineage 2 you can atleast improve your perfomance by configuring visual range, draw distance and stuff. If i play PVE i don’t care about seeing too much i just want smooth perfomance, not crazy FPS jumps every time i turn around.

There is a LOD slider, but there isn’t one for draw distance. Probably GW2 devs want to keep the beauty of the PVE landscape to a certain quality. I play PVE just to look at the landscape half the time, but its in WvWvW I don’t care too much and want more FPS.

LOD settings practicly don’t change much, it’s supposed to change detail of far away objects or smth, not your view distance, so it hardly adds fps. I changed it a lot of times but there is now seeable change. I suppose the far away objects should be more blured, kitteny looking on lowest setting but it’s just the same as on ultra.
