Yup, same here but I have never stopped playing, in the last days it just sucks, I was fine having 20 fps, it didn’t really bothered me, but now it is 5 fps max unless I turn everything down, and even in that way it is around 13 fps max, it makes it just unplayable and it makes me sad since I invested more than 100 euros in this game

So, last time i played GW2 was about 6 months ago, and, in that time i always had 50/80 FPS with every option in High.
Currently I’m stuck between 8/15 FPS…
I placed everything on low, and it’s the same, i just used the repair tool and nothing changed.
I keep playing my other games exactly how i used to, this is only happening with GW2 and i really have no idea why.My setup :
Windows 7 Ultimate 64x
ASUS M5A99X EVO
AMD Phenom II X4 965 – 4core 3.4 ghz
AMD Radeon HD 6670 1GB DDR5
8 GB DDR3I already checked for drivers and that kind of stuff.
Thank you for reading, any tip will help me here
Have a nice day
Let us start by monitoring your GPU, if you don’t already have a program that monitors your GPU, then I would recommend GPU-Z, which can be found here:
http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/2252/techpowerup-gpu-z-v0-7-2/mirrors
Make sure your GPU is being utilized 100% and is running at stock clocks (no overclocking). Make sure the GPU is running at least PCI-E 2.0 x16 @ x16 2.0. Anything other than @ x16 2.0 is likely the culprit hindering the speed of your graphics card.
You might have to reseat the graphics card to the motherboard to make sure its using all 16 lanes of the PCI-e slot. Usually it is just a bad connection with the motherboard that is causing the problems.

Started with low FPS on Thursday July 25th (running 5 FPS to 8FPS). Submitted a ticket and ran trace software as requested. They told me that I was losing packets and to contact my ISP. Ran Chat with ISP support where we reset the modem and checked everything – nothing was found. Connected direct to the Cable modem, bypassing my router and still low FPS. All drivers and system check out OK. Uninstalled and re-installed GW2 – no change
I can run GW1, Steam and all Steam games without issues (running Bioshock Infinite now). Rather frustrated because I have been playing since Dec with no major Issues. Don’t see a solution anywhere. I think my GW2 days may be over for a while

I feel like those are two very unrelated issues, FPS should not be impacted by your network connection. I can see the dropped packets affecting your connection and how stable the connection is, but not your FPS.
What graphics drivers are you running, and are they up to date?

My Dell download manager indicated they were the latest. Also checked them with Steam and it also says they are the latest.
The video before it enters the area looks fine – once I enter an area – Cursed Shores, Labrynth cliffs – any place – the image just sort of stutters. Not sure what happened on Thursday, but it hasn’t been right since. Been doing dailies for the whole month until then.
The ISP offered to send in a tech to check everything out -at a cost of course – rather not do that and find out it’s just a game setting – or a game software problem.
Re-installed, ran – repair, deleted the local.dat – all suggestions of the forum. Maybe it will just heal itself – yes that could happen.
Seems there’s quite a lot of folks experiencing FPS drops after the last few builds. I’ve done everything asked of me so far bar two last things: reinstall windows; buy a new GPU (even though the one I have is well above spec).

Next thing to check would be the temperatures for your CPU and GPU. If you don’t already have software that monitors the CPU and GPU temperatures, then I recommend getting HWMonitor, which can be found here:
http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/hwmonitor/1.23-setup.exe
Make sure to measure the temperatures after the game has been running for a few minutes so that the temperatures reach their load levels.

By any chance, do you guys have any of the following?
1. Adobe Flash Player.
2. Windows 8.1 (not 8, must be 8.1)
I have noticed that there is a significant performance hit when I updated Adobe Flash. I rolled it back to an older version and it resolved my FPS issue.
http://i44.tinypic.com/8wxdao.png
So far this is what i have at the moment, i’m running GW and some other stuff.
I just reached 30 fps, but it’s not stable and i belive it could be much better like it was 6 months ago…
Thank you
Windows 7 and not Adobe, anyway i tried everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, related to the software, so either the problem is the hardware (which differents scansions seems to negate) or it is GW2
I dowloaded the HWMonitor and it looked like my CPUs were a bit hot. Opened it up and cleaned up the fans and the temp dropped. Here’s the CPU core temps with GW2 running
Value Min Max
49 C 47C 63C Core 1
48C 42 C 58C Core 2
49C 47 C 62 C Core 3
47 C 45C 59 C Core 4
Radeon
Value Min Max
69C 53 C 69C
70C 53C 70C
FPS is now at 9.
I appreciate the suggestions and the help.
I am running Windows 7 and do have the Adobe Flash player.
Have you tried running other games to check the FPS performance level? I’ve had latency or packet loss issues cause me big FPS issues where other games ran flawless. ie guild wars / all modern warfare / black ops / AoC ran maxed and great. But when I played war hammer online it was disaster. All issues similar to the current.
Ok, so i did everything, reinstalled the game, drivers etc, and i stil get 10/15 fps… the difference from everything on High/Ultra to low/noone is like 2/3 fps, this can’t be normal. I saw tons of posts with this kind of issues, and noone from Arena gave a decent answer. The game currently lost all the fun for me if i have to play like this.
Oh and yes, all my other games run normally
I stopped trying to fix this any longer. I’ve done everything possible short of buying a new system and changing ISPs. Perhaps when they do a new build on Aug 6th things will get back to normal.
On to Bioshock Infinite and a revisit to GW1 (which runs just fine).

That is way too hot for a AMD CPU, those phenoms are rated at a max temp of 65c, so most likelly ur CPU is throtling down to keep up with that kind of heat. The normal CPU temp at full load, and i mean during a stress test, not gaming, should be arround 50c, during gaming u should never see ur CPU going over 40c. I had a phenomIIx6 overclocked to 4ghz and it did never ever went over 35c during gaming.
I would sugest u to remove the CPU heatsink, and re apply the thermal compuond, if that dosen’t work, just do ur CPU a favor and buy a coolermaster 212EVO CPU cooler it is arround 30$ and it will keep that CPU running at at 30c.
Notice u won’t see this issue reflected in other games cuz they don’t push ur CPU as hard as GW2 does.

Been running fine for 9 months so I wonder why suddenly GW2 has FPS issues? System is clean as a whistle and all diags pass easily. Beginning to think it actually is a network issue with my setup.

For some reason your graphics card is only @ x1 2.0 from your screenshot that you have posted. It should be @ x16 2.0. The reason for such a low FPS is that you only are using 1 of 16 available lanes on the PCI-e slot. I recommend reseating the graphics card on your motherboard and ensuring that all other power connections to the graphics card are properly inserted.

After last patch FPS dropped to non playable.
FIrst I tought something happened with crossfire.
Got 2x 7970 ghz edition playing in infinity 6048×1080.
From standard ~50-60fps somewhere even more it dropeed to like 10-15.
Even after disabling eyefinity still bad performance.
Also every other game works just fine.
Only differences made are latest ATI drivers 13.8 beta and last update for GW2 as well.
Any ideas?

Same here. Huge FPS drop since last build.
All other games seem to run just fine.
I’ve got the same, never noticed if it coincided with the last update fixed it temporarily by uninstalling my graphics card and reinstalling it, but started again the next day. Really hope its something that can simply be patched
Rollback to a previous version of Adobe Flash Player or Uninstall it.
Anybody know for sure whats going on? I dropped from having a steady FPS around 30 to 15-20 max, no matter what the settings are set to…
I play on a Dell XPS L702X
with an intel® Core i7-2720QM cpu@2.2ghz 2.20ghz
Nvidia graphics card GT 555M,
I know its not the best system, but it should be getting more than 17 FPS on the lowest graphic settings.
But its only been since the last build. Help anyone?
Yeah, same here.
Was having a good 70-80 frames yesterday while playing and after updating it dropped
to 30 – 45 on stock settings on GPU, 40 – 50 overclocked.
I already checked temperatures and they seem normal, GPU is using up 100% while playing, other games play like they’re supposed to…
My specs:
Intel Core i5-2320 @ 3.0GHz
nVidia GeForce GT630
8GB 1333Mhz RAM
I used to get 20 fps with almost everything on max, now with the latest patch performances dropped even more, with “best performance” I get 10 fps.
This is just ridiculous and it’s ruining the game to me.
Went through a week of testing with NCsoft (NCsoft support was really great to me) and finally AlienWare (also great support). We discovered that one of my ATI-5970 GPUs was only running at PCI-E 2.0 x16@ 1 2.0 rather than PCI-E 2.0×16@ 16 2.0. Dell replaced the Graphics card and I am back on line, running 50 FPS – finally.
I had the same symptoms as a lot of others here. Every other game ran fine except for GW2. Used the TechpowerUP GPU-Z application to finally see the problem. It worked for me. Good luck to all of you – I can relate to the frustration.
Replaced the card? Or did they just put the original one into the proper PCI slot? The reason I ask is that I have exactly the same GPU as you and GPU-Z gives me the 2.0 × 16 @ x16 2.0 result from the bus interface – and yet I’ve never been able to get above 25 FPS since 2nd July. And this build makes no change to that at all.
SoundblasterZ AsusX99Pro 512GBM2SSD 1TBSSD
3TBHDD 16gbRAM Corsair900D Win10Pro Corsair rmi1000w ethernet 100 down, 6 up
They installed a new card and the Alienware phone rep said make sure they also replace the memory. Tech arrived and replaced ATI card and all RAM.
GPU-z showed me @ x 1 2.0 on the graphics screen. When I ran the Render test (question mark on the right of the Graphics Card screen) the bottom of the Graphic that ran showed one GPU @ x1 2.0 and the other GPU @ x16 2.0. Try the Render test to be sure. Perhaps that is not your issue.
With the new card the Render test shows both GPUs @ x16 2.0. Running OK now – was 8 FPS now 50 FPS.
My problems started on July 25th.
I ran the test, everything seems to be working A-okay.
All of my drivers were up to date, I’ve even had a tech come by and look at everything, and everything checked out.
My issues were temporarily fixed two days ago, when they updated, but since they released the last two builds, I have been back down to 17-20 FPS.
I’m not sure whats going on, but it would seem that in the past few weeks and days that more and more people are having the same issues…
Any thoughts anyone?
Hey everyone, Just wanted to let you know, after two weeks of this I finally stumbled into the solution.
I ran Skyrim and SC2 this morning, and they were running at much lower quality than expected. So, I relented and rolled back my drivers for my graphics card, and viola, problems gone.
The game actually runs better now then it did before, so I reccomend trying that and re-updating your drivers to the current (non-beta) update.
I wish you all the best!

Don’t Necro a 5month old Thread. Instead make a new one and put a Reference Link to the older thread. What was happening 5 months ago might not be happening today.
And the performance for your Hardware (Give or take any OverClocking you are doing) is pretty normal. Even on my i5-4670K at 5.1Ghz Zerg Events fall down to sub 20FPS (ESP if I join the World Boss Train with 80+ Players balled together!)
