This is the absolute worst FPS spot in lion’s arch since the culling update.
Without shadows and reflections, I go up to 15 from 12. with an i7 I bet I’ll get maybe up to 25 fps in the same spot under max settings.
try this :
Considering that’s for Battlefield 4, which is a completely different game and is more GPU bound than CPU bound, I doubt that will help much.
it is applicable to any CPU-bound game, and GW2 is a CPU-bound game…
I know GW2 is a CPU bound game. BF4 is more GPU bound.
Hes right, gw2 is only cpu bound due to bad optimization. If it was multi threaded then it wouldn’t be.
Windows 10
yea just over the bridge form the northern waypoint, thats a good place to test, its the worst place in LA for FPS as u said.
Here is what i get.
1st pic my settings, 2nd one urs.

Guild Wars 2 is plenty multi threaded. Just AMD processors aren’t up to handling it as much as Intel processors are.

Sweet jesus I’m incredibly jealous of that resolution and performance. I’ll get that performance when I’ve done bought and installed the new mainboard and intel i7 I bet.
Uploading the pics seems to be takign a while, the second one should come up soon.
The FPS gets hit hard by reflection – All, so i highley advise u turn them down.
As for resolution, im downsampling, my scree only takes 1920×1080, but by downsampling i can effectivly get rid of Alaizing. beleve it or not my GPu is still not breaking a swet lol…well ok it is sweting a bit, but its at 85% , so still has some room. I just cant go any higher due to bandwidth limitso n my HDMI cable and/or TV input controler, 1 pixel higher and 90% of the screen is black and only the top 10% is shown lol.

DVI is the answer to that problem xD and yeah I have reflections off mainly.
Yes well, Plasma TV’s dont come with DVI :P
I will however be going DVI once Asus’s 4k 39" Monitor comes out in Q1 next year
Thats gunna be so sweet, over double the PPI (pixels per inch) as what i got now and 4 times the resolution. yes its slightly smaller being that my current one is 42" .. but i neve really wanted a 42" screen, i originaly wanted 37", but LCD tv’s 4 or so years ago had horrible ghositng so i had no choice but to go plasma, and they start at 42".

Its not multi threaded, its pretty much in the same situation planetside 2 was in before they made the engine multi threaded. If it was multithreaded then amd would be getting similar or exceed the performance of equivalent intel cpus.

I’m always interested to see other peoples performance results and compare them to my own.
This is my screen taken from the same place.

We did benchmarks. i7 vs FX 6300
25-35% all at stocks – same city same world and same time…
All depends on how much people is at LA
Sometimes i get more than 35FPS at LA – sometimes 25 …..
Shadows to max and sharders – GPU bottleneck when i have 25 FPS in LA
You dont have to believe it.. because i dont care…

Yep, cause of minimum FPS —- if wee look at avg. (intel has much better MAX. FPS) it is 35-40% – but this is does not count for fights, battles just open world searching…
And there Intel destroy AMD both CPUs has more than 80 FPS…
LA is total different story even i7 is not capable to deliver good FPS…
i was disappointed with INTEL and GW2 optimization…

i7 3770k @ base clock. Gigabyte R9 280x 1100/1500 factory oc’ed
Not to bad with everything set to max including ultra settings with super sampling
I have a intel i5 2500k @ 4.5 ghz and a gigabyte 7970 and runs good, 60 fps almost all the time except for wvw , drops to 40 fps in EPIC battles, the overclock REALLY helps!!! you should try it!!

I hold steady fps 60 everywhere in the game pve wise easily. except that spot in LA it’s taxing due to the forges particle effects. I pushed the 3770k to 4.0ghz and left the 280x at it’s base oc cause it really doesn’t matter. (Tested it already had it at 1140/1645 minimal frame increase like 2-6 fps, but I don’t feel like running my fans @ 100% 24/7) WvW wise I never go below 40 fps usually stays around 45 to 50 in huge fights.
This screen is 4.0Ghz and Factory OC on the R9 280×. Should see for your self how taxing that spot in the screen shot is and post your results with the same settings.
PS: I wasn’t complaining about the fps it’s actually pretty decent compared to a lot of other peoples results. even though I have it set to highest settings.
