Low FPS with EVGA GTX Titan SC
Are you sure that since you installed the TITAN, that the GPU and CPU temperatures haven’t changed at all?

Yes, it has been excaclty the same since the 580 was there. And it works fine in every other game.
Hi Fixxer,
It is not your GPU thats at fault, the game is being limited by your CPU performance. This game does not require much in the way of a graphics card to run ( a GTX 580 could max out the game if it was not bottlenecked by the CPU )
512GB Samsung 950pro | 2TB SATA-3 | AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB
What I’d do in a situation like this
1. Check if the card is installed in the correct pci-e slot and works @x16
2. Motherboard bios update
3. Thermal issues (cpu heatsink might move during the installation)
4. Check pc power settings(might be downclocking things)
5. Different drivers or Fresh Windows installation and try 3 latest drivers(I re-install windows everytime I do a major upgrade to the system)
6. If still persists get gasoline and set it on fire :F
Hi! I got my GTX Titan two days ago and so far in games it preformed well. BUT, in GW 2 it just struggles, if im in LA and turn around it dips to 10 fps, so say in every other region it just fights the framerate. Im currently on the 314.22 drivers, and this was no problem when i was on my old GTX580.
Is this a driver issue or an issue by the game itself?
And, has anyone else experienced this with the Titan-card?regards
Fixxer
Don’t listen to these trolls talking to you. What is your CPU and at how many GHz are you running? The game was never optimized for the modern hardware, meaning that beefy systems have bad frame rate issues. Whenever one of these posts appear the will disappear when the community forum is making sense of the issue. So far I’ve gathered that GW2 isn’t optimized. Arenanet won’t say anything about it or acknowledge it as being a problem. Daily people come on the forum to kitten about it, and as more reply surface on the issue and people start calling Arenanet out, suddenly the post disappears. It’s a cover up.
Great game but the developers did something wrong in either the engine build or programing. I was getting 58 – 63 FPS everyplace but in cities where the frames dropped to 28 – 40. Since a patch a few weeks ago I sometime get 19-24 FPS in certain areas. Also my frame rate now bounces from 40 – 63 FPS when it use to stay around 60fps out in the country side.
My specs
AMD 8350 @ 4.2 GHz
16 GB Ram @1866
GTX 680 /w 4 GB
Windows 7 64-bit
Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD
There was a thread a few days ago I wrote on it, now I can’t find the it. It was about someone had a beefy system and had low framerates just like you.

Ive just confirmed my suspicion: I replaced the GTX Titan with the 580 and voila, all good again.
My cpu is a i7 3820 @ 3,9ghz with all cores burning and good temperatures. And the TITAN Scores 13260 on the gpu-test in 3dmark 11. Also, all other games work perfectly fine.
to add: its very laggy still, the game apparently goes down on the graphic-settings… i have no idea whats going on..

Did you not thoroughly read what he said? One GPU it was fine, a new one it is not fine. Please read what players post on the forums more carefully.
After release the game was slightly removed off of the CPU bounding, but still, sadly, heavily is. The game does in fact use more of the GPU today than in BETA. The problem he is having is the lack of support within the drivers for the Titan video card. The card is very new and owned by a company that cares more about FPS games than MMO games. It is simply a driver issue.
OP: you’re better off buying two 680’s. The Titan is a nice card, but it is going to lack support for GW2 due to the driver developers at Nvidia who care nothing about MMO games. We’re lucky Nvidia cards even work with GW2.
Also you ‘could’ try this to see what happens. It’s worth a shot:

I only mention this because I’m curious as to the Titan’s response to that compatibility bit. It may work better for you, or not.
Note: Also turn off Reflections (or set to Sky & Terrain only). This is a known issue within the game.

No improvement whatsoever… is it the devs at ANet who has to fix things, or is it Nvidia’s fault? Im still waiting…eagerly…
