No help for your system, your graphics are the real problem, also a bit low on ram.

Can’t help you much, your video card is not designed for modern gaming, it is barely the minimum requirement. Time to upgrade to a new one.

I use an HD 5570 and while it’s not an ideal card, it’s cheap as hell and I can run most settings on medium and on native shaders. Might be something you could look into if you can’t afford a high-end card right now. Just make sure you have the latest drivers! Otherwise the 5570 runs this game like crap. Look at your system performance while you run the game and make sure it’s not maxing out your RAM too, since you’re kinda on the minimum for it.

You system is to old and to low spec to run GW2 smoothly.

Any upgrade you could get will be hampered by other parts of your system.

4gb RAM was the standard a couple years ago ..nowerdays its usualy 8 or 16gb ..so you way behind on that.

The CPU is also very dated and todays is to slow for most games that even remotly gain performance from a cpu. Idealy at minimum you would want a 2nd gen i5, maybe as low as a high spec 2nd gen i3

Your GPU again is to slow. mid range ‘gaming’ cards today would be a 560ti or 660ti. Low end would be the 460, 560(non ti), 650ti. Or ATI equivalanets on all them.

That is not quite true Solar, u see, for most ppl 30FPS is fine, only 5% of the ppl use high end components to get the top performance, 95% ppl playing this game do it on what u would consider media PCs or old systems and they are fine with it, otherwise the game would be a economic catastrophe for the developers, it is an MMORPG and is meant to be played on low end systems aswell, this is not crysis. So even while a core2Duo, is old it can play the game aceptably for some ppl standards, u cannot recomend to everyone a full upgrade, it would be cool but, face it, most ppl won’t upgrade their whole system to play a game.
To the OP, ur main problem is u have a integrated video chip, it will struggle with this game no matter what resolution u use, get a 100$ videocard a Radeon hd7750/hd7770, it will run well along with ur processor. U also need 4Gb of ram, and a 64 bits OS (win7/win8 only, winXP or vista will perform bad).

A C2D will crumble in WvWvW to a point that most people would consider unplayable..< 15fps

.

What modern games require these cpu’s? I can’t think of any but GW2. I still am using a X4 955 unclocked and can run Skyrim, Crysis 2, etc. on ultra settings with no hitch.

most modern game ‘that remotly use cpu for performance’ .. that doesnt mean there are loads out ..just that there are some.

One im playing atm , other than GW2, that does is MWO (mechwarrior online)

Crysis doesnt take much from cpu ..i played it on my C2E without any trouble from the cpu.

Its usualy online games due to the computing the cpu has to do with the other player chars..atleats thats what i find which woudl limit it to MMO’s ..however some normal MO’s do seem to cause high usage MWO being a prime example.. only 16 players in a map at a time and those wiht cpu;s form the C2D/C2E period do strugle with fps due to their cpu’s.
