I dont know why people compare this game to other games lol I was guilty of that too at one point until I realized that all games are NOT created equal. I might love this game but I have to admit that the game’s code isn’t all that optimized (if not at all).

but anyways! yeah, your rig is killer. no doubt about that. But it’s unfortunate if you do only have a 2600 and not the 2600K....as seeing that 2600k is a little easier to over clock. but if you can over clock, I have heard people on these forums stating that 4.5Ghz is the sweet spot for modern Intel CPUs.

In order for GW2 to play at acceptable framrates you need to overclock your CPU to roughly 4.5ghz. tsmith is right about that being GW2’s sweetspot.
Again too bad you didnt get the “k” version of that CPU as it would be easier to overclock. Make sure you have a good cooler and do research before attempting to overclock your CPU.

The FPS you are getting is extremely low. Is the 9-15FPS in WvW, PvE or both? is the 9-15 FPS constant or a dip?

I found this in another post.

Please don’t OC your CPU for just one game. I ran the game fine (for the most part) on my old AMD CPU, as well as my new Intel CPU without any overclocking.

4.5GHZ is absolutely not needed and not a “sweet spot” for gw2. There are of course some optimization issues under the hood that needs to be tightened up for gw2, but OCing your CPU won’t get you anywhere to try to solve this particular issue.

Yea we all are aware that but there is nothing else on our end to do… So overclocking is the best option.

Yea i also have 6970 but the problems I have are due to the game being cpu bound..

Game is unoptimized, needs direct x 10/11 and coded bad and doesnt know how to balance cpu cores, threads properly or even use all cores or threads.

This ^^

Anet went the easy route and basically used the original guild wars engine for a 2012 release…..result is what you see now.

Ur video card ir probably installed on the wrong PCI port or running at low multiplier check how fast is running. Download GPUz, check for the PCI express bus speed, should be PCI 2.0 x16 @ 2.0 x16. Anything lower than x8 will give u very low FPS in GW2, (even while other games run perfect).
