Low frame rate. Information Please.
Exceeding the min requirement does not equal you can run the game at max. The min requirement is the playable or run state regardless of low FPS. At least you can game in normal world. WvW is more intensive.
The higher the clock speed of your CPU is better, overclocking can yield better FPS but risky if you have no experiences with overclocking.
Totally agree and totally understand this, I was just curious about where my spec left me. The frame rate does drop incredibly low though which I would abnormal. Even in the normal world if you pan the camera left and right you get jittering and such like. I tend to avoid overclocking for that very reason, I have never done it and so don’t have the knowledge to do it effectively.
Hello,
Having read other threads and the stickies in this forum I am aware that there is ongoing work aimed at improving performance within the game on those machines that exceed the minimum spec required.
I am one of those people experiencing low frame rates (Max 21fps, min 12fps). The more going on the lower the frame rate naturally in WvW. Anyway my machine exceeds the minimum spec and no amount of changing settings in game or at the nvidia control panel helps.

My old computer, now being used by my old man has slightly better performance than you..but it is just a step up in terms of cpu compared to urs so its to be expected.
its a QX6850 OC’d to 3.7ghz and it has a 460 OC gpu with 6gb 800mhz ram.
it runs the game with most settings on medium ..1 or 2 on high. Most importantly ..the GPU gives between 20 and 40 fps and rarely maxes out its usuage, thats becouse although the CPU is OC’d and a 4core ..its just to old, its archetecture is not efficient enough and doesnt compare to current generation intel CPU’s.
Bassicaly you could OC your cpu and gain maybe 5 fps. But to get anything better, you need a totaly new system (minus a gpu since the 460 is OK for medium/high settings)
My advice to you is to get into the habbit of totaly ignoreing the ‘minimum requirments’ advertised on any game, instead think of ‘recommended’ as the minimum, HOWEVER even then make sure to beat them by a significant margin otherwise your likely not to get good performance or see the game in all its glory.

how are you supposed to beat the recommended on gw2 when only the minimum were given? They really should have listed recommended requirements.
I bit the bullet and spent 500$ on upgrades to play this addictive game had I have known it was going to run like crap on my older system I probably wouldn’t have bought it.
But im hooked now so I did the upgrade.
windows 8
amd fx6100 6 core cpu

NVIDIA GTX 670
12 fps wvw GG arenanet
Oh customer support made me run unigine heaven benchmark my average fps was 172 with a max fps of 289. Arenanet stated I don’t have any of my motherboard drivers installed by a game advisor report they made me do, they also said I had no broadbrand driver installed and if that where correct id have no internet. 172 average fps on unigine benchmark on high but 12 fps in guild wars 2? please refund my money so I can spend it on a game that is actually up to date.
Isn’t the Heaven benchmark GPU heavy ? Cause i ran it with my Phenom II 965 @ 4ghz with HD6870 in crossfire and a friend of mine ran it with his i7 3930K with a single GTX 670.. and i actually had a Higher score then him.
If it was more CPU heavy he should have blown mine away..
Was actually suprised mine scored higher but apparently ATI know hows to make Crossfire scale like crazy in about everything but GAMES.
I had a fx 4100 with a gtx 560 and was getting the same fps as my fx6100 and gtx 670 mine as well get my 600$ back for the hardware

A FX-6100 is no better than FX-4100. There is not an upgrade. They are basically the same cpu.
You really need to learn what is going on with your system.

AMD cpu + GW2 = bad performance
Even the latest AMD cpu’s are to that good with GW2.
If ur upgrading just/mainly for GW2, then go intel ..otherwise dont bother upgrading.
