Hi,
simple question does anyone out there has this feature working for GW2 and if so does it increase FPS?
Than since ivy-bridge has ~30% more GPU performance, this may effect MVP for GW2 too.
So if u have such a board/cpu can u post result with MVP on/off, while in GPU (none WvW) heavy areas?
Thx
PS: If possible also post a short system spec, board/cpu/gpu/MVP settings, GW2 test area and if the monitor is connected to the iGPU or external gpu.

Stay as far away from Lucid Virtual MVP as you can. Don’t use it, don’t even install it. It’s a horrible, buggy piece of software that will at-best keep your frame rate about the same, at worst it will make your games crash. It really only “works” on old games like Quake 3 which doesn’t matter since they run at like 200fps on modern GPUs anyway.
If you have this software installed on your machine, remove it immediately and just use your normal GPU drivers. Trust me.

Thx for your personal opinion, but i rather go with hard facts than hearsay. Yes i understand that its not “great” or otherwise every game review site would recommend it, however i saw some valid and positive benchmarks, for some modern games, using the latest lucid drivers.
The biggest issue seems stability and compatibility for games, but thats why i ask here. I’m not interested in any “hearsay” or personal opinion or if it don’t work with game XY. I would like specific GW2 test results, especially under 60 FPS systems with vsync off and only MVP “Hyperformance” mode. This means i’m interested in pure FPS gains/loss and not the “special vsync” feature over 60FPS.
As example, here is a test with newer drivers, but i cant find any test that uses the latest drivers. As shown it also “seem” to work for <60FPS as well, which was not seen on reviews before the newer drivers.

You really are something else aren’t you ?
You are asking for peoples experience with this and in particular gw2 BUT you will not tolerate any ‘hearsay’.
Why did you even ask?
You know what , google and test it yourself and find out and be done with it.You think people are going to install crap and deal with their game crashing every 5 minutes just to test it FOR you??
You have a special way of asking for info.

Yeah sorry, but instead of useless whining and kittening from trolls like the above 2, i was hoping to get someone to simply turn MVP on, start GW2, write down FPS and repeat the same without MVP. I guess this was to naive of me in a GW2 forum. Instead i get useless troll answers.
So neither u not the guy above u answered any of my questions. U both simply repeat “hearsay” and i already edited and posted a benchmark i found with some newer drivers, yet u took the time to quote without actually reviewing the article, that would have show that the “opinion” from the first guy, is at least partially false, outdated or irrelevant.
I also did not ask about general “experience” i specifically asked if someone “tried” it for GW2, since i don’t care if it don’t do anything in all other PC games out there!
Also i obviously have no MVP board, since otherwise i would not have to ask here, so how can i test it?
PS: At least thx for the bump….

I’ve been using Virtu MVP (HD3000 + GTX 560 Ti, in “i” mode, with the monitor connected to the iGPU via HDMI), with both Virtual V-sync and HyperFormance, and can honestly say that it works 100% in GW2.
A nice benefit of using Virtu in iMode is that the iGPU renders the windows desktop, leaving the dGPU’s memory 100% free (i.e., you get even a better benefit than disabling “desktop composition” for memory hungry games).

Ah oki so at least no crashes or graphic glitches? Do u get actual better FPS or u just use the “vsync smooth” feature? What FPS u are getting in PvE with “HyperFormance” turned on and off, if u have time to test it?

Nope, no crashes or glitches yet. I’ve just tested looking to lion statue in Lion’s Arch coming from the mystic forge, and HyperFormance+Virtual V-sync was around 71fps vs 63fps with just Virtual V-sync enabled.
I can tell you for sure that the Virtual V-sync is really worth it. It beats everything on the market right now. Even better than using regular v-sync + triplebuffering (actually d3d frame queueing) + framerate cap at monitor Hz minus 1 trick for no input lag. And let’s not even discuss nVidia’s adaptive v-sync….

I just discovered after updating my Nvidia GEFORCE R304 DRIVERs to the latest 306.97 version that I-mode no longer works with Guild Wars 2 on my system. I have switched to D-mode and it it is working fine now. I-mode may work for others. However, I was unable to get it to work for me.

You have to re-install Virtu every time you update the nVidia drivers for i-mode to work properly again.

I never had to re-install Virtu MVP before after updating my drivers. I always just renamed the lucidloader.ini file extension to like lucidloader.old. I then would restart Virtu MVP and it would restart with default settings. I would then just add Guild Wars 2 back in the Virtu MVP list of games. For some reason, after I updated to the Nvidia 306.97 driver, renaming that file would not work anymore. I’ll try reinstalling Virtu MVP to see if I-mode will work after a reinstall.

I did try reinstalling Virtu MVP to try I-mode again with Guild Wars 2. I-mode did work after installing the Virtu driver.
Since release I haven’t been able to get Lucid MVP to work in D-mode – the Lucid logo dosen’t show ingame at all. any idears?
gonna test it out asap.
gtx580+ asus rampage iv GenZ/Gen3 + 2500k
edit: tried it and i get no fps increase whethere is “ON” or not.
On the other hand i get “zero” values on the build in VGA card on GPU-Z program. Which might mean that build in VGA is not active or something.
Although it is active in the BIOS.
Virtu was set up enabling Hyper and Vsync when GW2 runs, at D-Mode… no clue other than iGPU is not enabled.

You are not going to see any FPS increases using a GTX580 with VirtuMVP in GW2 since it doesn’t fully utilize the card in the first place. GW2 is more CPU-bound atm.
However, someone with a lower end GPU might see some performance boost with VirtuMVP
before release I did get a prompt in game that Luciv MVP was running, but not since and no effect either, so I think it was patched by A-Net that way. So I-more is the only way to get something out of it and let it run the desktop or something.

I can confirm that Virtu MVP also stopped working for me. Lucidlogix updated the software to 2.1.221.25032. Since then I was unable to get GW2 to work with it. GW1 still works fine. UPDATE: Just patched my Gw2.exe and Virtu MVP is working again with the latest Virtu MVP.

For nvidia users:
301.42WHQL
MVP2.1.115A
(Optional) performance improvements @Intel 15.28.8.64.2875
These are the only compactible drivers that work (after extensive testing)
Lots of unofficial games can be used with hyperformance in this combination in fullscreen.
Lucid needs to state this on their website, what drivers are tested and are compactible.
(their doc says on all drivers/with tested games, yea right)
For gw2, in some cases it gives more fps on some spots 10-30fps.
(but overall the fps is indentical, could not test due to forced vsync or missing benchmark)
The main reason for using it in gw2:
Withouth mvp&streaming the ui overlay flickers in screen region/software capture !
Overall it feels a bit more responsive in higher demanding erea’s.
PS: -D -H mode tested only with 3770K/GTX570DC2.

Did as you suggested, but it is still not prompting the MVP banner ingame. 3570k/570phantom
@Tenzor.9315
Mvp has setting for popup prompt.
Game added to list ?
H syntax marked with game ?
What mode are you using, only did test -D mode.

Has anyone used this recently?
Did a quick experiment.
Windows 8.1 (64bit)
Geforce 660 TI (2gb Ram) – Driver 331.82
With VirtuMVP2.0 Version 3.0.108.27919
Turning on HyperFormance gave about 3-5 more FPS.
However the when I had the world map it would black out for 1/2 a second every now and then. This was just a quick test of it however
The primary reason I bought the 2.0 version of VirtU, is it supports Windows 8.1 and allows programs that use Intel’s Quick Sync work while I’m running off my nvidia card.
I’m not using the energy saving (running on Intel HD 3000) due to in ability to hook up two monitors to my onboard video card, other wise I be running in that setup.
