My old wireless mouse (Logitech, type unknown) started acting up a bit after a long and prosperous life, so I bought myself a new mouse (Logitech M305). After a little bit of happiness, the problem now back and getting worse. I don’t seem to be encountering this problem out of game, though it’s hard to tell as the only reason I use the mouse and this laptop is for Guild Wars 2 at the moment. I was curious if anyone else has encountered the same problem as me, and if they were able to fix it.

When I scroll around the screen, sometimes my mouse would not follow, as if to freeze for a bit. Also, when I right click + hold to move the camera around, it would often “freak” out < wording replaced – since we are a worldwide game, different words have different connotations in other areas of the game, as is the case with the word removed here. Thanks for the understanding! ~ Dalmarus>, the mouse arrow would come back, and the camera motion would not occur. It is getting worse and frustrating. This new mouse wasn’t the most expensive mouse out there, but it still wasn’t cheap. If it is a problem I can fix, I would love to fix it before buying a new mouse. Any ideas?

I’ve got the same problem with my Logitech MX Revolution.
Oddly though, I think it started after I upgraded my system from AMD to Intel.

myself, my friends and guildies with logitech/razer gaming mice have the exact same problem.

ive started or replied on several threads about this issue, but there was no official response in any of them.

which means, they probably have no idea how to fix it?
or they’re just ignoring us.

Hi Soccerspeed – Do you encounter this issue at all using a wired mouse?

I have the same problem but it only happens sometimes. I have no idea what triggers it all I know is that it doesn’t happen outside the game. I’m using a Logitech G5 (it’s a wired mouse)

When you use the mouse, do you disable the touchpad on the laptop? Sometimes you can get errors from having the 2 input devices going at the same time.

During the beta I was having similar problems with my Razer Copperhead. Found out it was a hardware problem with the mouse. Just needed to clean out the laser to stop the fidgety movement. The click and holding was another thing. I found a website through Google that logged pressed keys and such in a web app. I saw that while I held down the right mouse button, the computer was getting a rapid fire like response. I opened up the mouse and tested the mechanical switch on the mouse and saw it was fine. What was happening was the mouse button was only pushing the switch down a little bit as the button had worn down. I just built a few layers of super glue on the part of the button that presses the switch and put the mouse back together. No problems since.

I’m just gonna throw this out there (seven months later) that the problem occurs running Windows on bootcamp for me. I recently tried it again and same problem. The same mouse works fine when I use my dell instead of my mac. Thanks everyone 7 months ago for trying to help. I hope everyone who had the same problem got it fixed. If everyone’s problems happened because of bootcamp, well here’s a partial solution. Now the thread can close.
