Guild Wars 2

When I play GW2 my mouse stops working/shuts down followed by the sound of unplugging an USB device – then shortly after that same sound indicates that the mouse is “plugged” in again.

Just to make my self clear – the mouse is never actually unplugged.

What have I done so far:
I have checked the “device manager” to see if any issues is present – not the case
Within “device management” I have deactivated and reactivated my USB ports since I red somewhere that repeatedly unplugging and (putting an USB device back in) could cause issues with the USB port (cause the USB port to stop responding forinstance) – this did not help.
I have tried another mouse (both of them is less than a year old) with the same issue
I have tried to switch between the two USB ports on my laptop

My question to you out there is:
What could cause this? Is it the mouse (sounds unlikely since it is experienced with more than one mouse). Is it the computer that is broken? Is it something between the game and the mouse? Seems unlikely but anyways…

Do you need any other informations?
I’m running Win 7
on a Sony VPCF13S0E
The mouse in question is a Logitec G500 Gaming Mouse and an Evoluent Vertical Mouse. Both running on drivers that came with the mouse.

Thank you for answering my questions. I have been to the manufacturers page and updated drivers, that was one of the first things I did – when you mentioned it again in here I checked again to see if anything new was up. That was not the case.

Since yesterday my mouse has stopped working completely, no lights at all anymore. I’m closing this topic since it seems there is no current solution.

Have you tried updating the drivers via the manufacturer’s website since you first got it?

as far as I can see there are no updates, but thank you for the answer! Just Dl’ed something called SetPoint – now it’s even worse…

Just because Windows can’t find a driver update, doesn’t mean there couldn’t be one. It’s always good to check on the manufacturer’s website just to be sure.

Had same problem with mouse and once i upgraded my power supply the problem was fixed
