Hello everybody and merry chrismas

I’m French and i come posted here with my poor english because we have a similar problem .

The game is unplayable : lag and a lot of deconnections in game since 1 month . The post on the FR forum is really expensensive : a lot of players and 26 pages on the topic.

After 1 month of silence , players are desperate . We have buy a game but we cannot playing . We have a good computer , a connexion ADSL , and a key alright . We haven’t the problem with internet or other game …

The assistance of Anet send all player to the FAI assistance fai is (Orange, Free and SFR) . The FAI say the problem is not in her routage. Some players think it’s Cogent .

Players have found temporary solutions :
-VPN but not for all and not very security and we don’t want payed for playing
-Migrate on a US serveurs but the jetlag and the language are very restrictive for french people
-Wait and see but since 1 month ; we waiting and waiting and waiting … and nothing !!!
-Stop this game . Myself , i loved this game but it’s impossible to play.
- We think go to see an association to defense of customers because the time passed and nothing . We have payed this game and we want play because we have respect the contract and nothing in CGU/CGV specifie the necessity to take VPN or the game is incompatible with some french FAI

I hope find here a communication with Anet and a solution or an explaining . We need help of Anet . We have very patient but stop to ignore the French and the EU player and the situation please .

as my fellow said, playing on french server is currently not possible. We are encountering lots of lags and deco between 11 AM and 11 PM (GMT).
We actually haven’t real answers from the french community managers.
Are these issues existing in other European countries ?
What is planed to stop this problem and when can we expect a fix ?

Alright, i had the same issues:
- Battleping solved most of the lagging problem. I had to try different server before finding a good one. I know it’s not a fix but it can be a temporary solution.
- The “connection lost” issue is apparently fixed with this solution:

At least, it seems to work for me, i still need to test it when there are a lot f people connected.

Hi all,
same problem here, Rome Italy, isp Unidata (works only in Rome) fiber connection,50d/25u.
I have these problems from less then 1 month, never had before.
I resolved with Battleping or playing in morning or late night (after 00:00 is near normal).
A lots of my italian guildmates haven’t these problems, so i’m thinking that is a route’s isp problem (i use a unique isp in Italy), comune to a lots of foreign isp and now congested, don’t know why, perhaps for some works…….but now it is a long time i have that….is it possible that work on the routes could be so long?

I’ve been running pingplotter to diagnose the lag spikes I’ve been experiencing the last couple of weeks.
The last few days, I’ve set it up to diagnose the Citadel of Flame dungeon – ip 206.127.159.242.
During the day, ping is excellent, and no packetloss. Starting at about 17.00, the server starts to show increasingly amounts of packetloss, starting at 10%, and then later in the evening, it can be as high as 60% packetloss – totally insane!

Note, I don’t even run my game, I can watch through pingplotter all areas that are out of the question to even consider playing.

I’m running pingplotter on three different computers, and they all show the same thing. I’ve tried with and without the router, makes no difference. In short, these issues have nothing to do with my computer(s) and ingame settings, since as I said, I can see directly through pingplotter if an area is playable or not.

As I write this, I’m monitoring the Citadel of Flame server – it’s at 50% packetloss!

If I switch to another area to monitor, for example the dungeon Twilight Arbor, it’s showing 0% packetloss, with an occasional spike of 10%. Other areas, like Lions Arch, shows 0% packetloss.
A difference from perfect in one area, to totally unplayable in another area – at the same time!

How can this be? Why are different areas in the game so incredibly different when it comes to network performance?
And once again, I monitor this without even running the game, so the game itself has nothing to do with it!

The last steps in pingplotter for me, before reaching the plaync.com servers, goes through a couple of Level3.net servers.

For the rest of you experiencing these issues, if you run pingplotter, what are the last few servers you go through before reaching the plaync.com ones? Would be interesting to know.

Also, the packetloss I experience are sometimes directly related to me being kicked out of the game with an error 7.×.×.x…

Iam also French, and i may say that Guild Wars 2 is making French peaple nervous since 2 months.

It’s impossible to play from 6:00PM to 11:30PM (GMT+1 PARIS)

Why? Because of these awful latency! There is also a lot of messages written on our French Forum, but nothing is really told to us. We don’t got any news and we get bored… ervery evening, we are launching the Game and after few minutes, we know it’s better for our health to close the game and do something else… cause this is really really boring.

The game you’ve worked on is amazing! I’am proud to have purchased this product.
You know, some French peaple have decided to migrate their account to some USA game server to reduce the latency (some peaple says that this is better). Some others decided to use some VPN (virtual private network)… Some others decided to write a letter to “Papa Christmas” to get a better GAME Experience with a good ping…

So can you do something for us? Can USA help the French community?
Tell me if i can help to fix this problem “by hook or by crook” (thanks to google translate)

French customer here … I am both happy and pretty sad to see my fellow people post here too …

It’s been weeks that I am experiencing amazing lag at “rush hours” from 5pm CET to 11pm CET … The game has became unplayable since Wintersday after NOON …

Today I ran the 3 paths of AC without lots lag and luckily stopped at noon … I felt a lil lag so I went offline.
Then I tried at 5pm to do an AC run : after 5 or 6 DC, I just didnt log in back since I was so ashamed of being unable to be of any help to my PUG … I just hope they made it …
Finally I logged in at 9pm and the game was still laggy as hell, I just managed to finish my daily achievements …

Lag + unable to log back in a Fractal group = NO FotM for me … During all december I’ve only tried to do a daily every other day and still can’t even manage to finish 1 out of many … I was enough lucky to get 5 rings with only doing less than 15 dailies lvl10, so I dont really mind to get more uninfused ones. But Id like to level up from level 11 to 20, for the 2nd daily AND the chance to get infused rings, which is a MUST HAVE for lvl30+ … And of course I wanna get to lvl30+, I paid for this. I repeat I am a legit customer and even more than the casual or lambda one : I bought several times 4k gems (check my account history). So I am also paying now and I guess later.

My question is crystal clear : WHY ?

I talked to my guildees and none (Sweden, Portugal, Netherlands, Turkey, South Africa, etc.), not one has a lag like mine.

My computer (viruses, processusses running in the backgroud, applications, RAM, video card, SSD, HDD), network I/Os and internet bandwith are clean, perfect and optimized …

So, WHY us, French people, have to be left alone ?

I would really like to hear an answer from Anet to the French Community.

It is not only French as you can see here. But more important is that Anet still did not bother to give us good explaining. As you said we all paid them to play this. And what what we get? Lagy game and ignoring of this problem or if not ignoring than explaining that problem is on our site. But as most of us now know this is not truth.
If they will not change the way they behave we shoud all demand our money back.

Using pingplotter I’m getting intermittent (10%) packet loss at ae-7-7.ebr3.Dallas1.level3.net.

I guess I should have added that I’m on Verizon in upstate NY. So, this is definitely outside of my network.

some french fellows have read the german forum. It seems they encountered the same issue since lots of weeks. In french communauty the trouble has begun since early December and has become harder and harder since last week.
We still don’t know what causes this issue and when it will be fixed.

I play 3 MMO’s and none of the others have problems, just GW2. Also live in Michigan using Comcast which I never have problems with. Even signed up for Pingzapper and still have the same problem.

Sounds kind of like what I’ve been seeing.

Ever since the Wintersday patch, I’ve seen intermittent “input lag” for 5-15 seconds, and when this happens, my wife (playing next to me on the same network) shows that my character is running off in a random direction. Finally, when the lag ends, my character is teleported back to where I was originally, and my skills suddenly work again. This was particularly frustrating in WvW while trying to get my monthly achievement. Also, when entering/leaving the water with my ranger, the pet’s F2 skill is often empty for several seconds, presumably while the game server/client determines whether it’s an aquatic or terrestrial pet.

I’ve tested my connection with Pingtest.net, Speedtest.net, PingPlotter, etc., and found no issues whatsoever. My frame rates are consistently >30fps in the most crowded areas (including WvW), but I don’t think any of these problems would be caused by video lag, anyway.

My wife has since noticed that her character has been experiencing some strange behavior in-game as well. For instance, she tried to jump from a vista in Timberline Falls and land in the water below, but she didn’t quite make it (on her screen). I went to revive her, but I found her floating in the water. On her screen, she was still lying partway up a very steep slope, even as her health bar refilled, and I was in the water far below. Perhaps more surprisingly, during the time she was lying there out of the water, her displayed weapon was a harpoon gun.

All these things considered, I’ve begun to suspect that it may in fact be a problem with the server being confused. If she had landed in the water (as evidenced by what I saw), she should have survived. If she had landed on the hillside, she shouldn’t have her harpoon gun displayed while defeated, and I shouldn’t have found her in the water. If the problem had been caused by a delay in communication, it should have resolved itself at some point in the five minutes it took me to cross the map to get to her.

Hi all, tonight in Australia the network lag is horrific.. Press a button and nothing happens for a few seconds.. My fps is around 90 and I have not Internet connection issues

Piken Square EU and getting this issue.

I am interested to see that gandara players are getting it, and the french, as we are in WvW against gandara and augury rock at the moment and its in WvW and lions overflow that the issue is the worst. It definitely seems regional.

I am an American playing on Piken Square. I can not log into any of my characters — it’s an endless loading screen. I’ve reset my computer and my router (oddly enough not getting any reauthentication emails after doing this which used to be typical). I also ran -repair for giggles thinking somehow it was my problem. Silly me. Once again I ran -diag, and what do you know -- one of the authentication servers is completely dead and there is packet loss going all over the place. Interestingly enough GW1 is working completely fine. Maybe I should go waste my time over there.

COF dungeon at 50-90% packetloss this evening!

Have my ISP checking into this, but considering the huge amount of people, from all over the world, I’d say this is not an issue with our connections, but something with their servers that only affects some of us.

Piken Square EU (from Hungary) unplayable lag (3-10 seconds) and frequent disconnects in the recent weeks.

I thought it was an isp issue, and i was having some heated conversations with them. But tonight i had several disconnects playing HoTW dungeon while my teamspeak worked flawlessly. Other games are running without these issues.

I also live in Eastern Standard Time Zone in Canada. My ISP is fairly normal and my internet speed is quite fast. It doesn’t matter if I used a wired connection or wifi but I will always get this network lag issues where I can walk around the world, but I can sometime see people walk. However, I can not use my skills or do special actions (or open inventories and equip anything) because of this network lag. I don’t know if it is server overpopulation because I know for sure my net is fine since it works flawlessly with other MMOs.

Yo !
Since Halloween event it’s Lag all days but essentially dramatic around 6h30 pm / 02h30 am. It’s tottally unplayable and lot of guild members or peeps I know stopped completely playing, calling the game lag wars 2 and saying to friends to not buy this fest of lag of a game. I stopped myself playing around halloween cause it was unplayable, and here I come again, and the lag is even worse.
I played tons of mmo and others online game and never see such a lag fest.
This is pathetic.

This morning I logged in and as usual I was lagging out and getting disconnected so I decided heck with it and transferred from my server which was shown as very high population to one that was listed as medium population(lowest population I could find was medium) and I just played 2 hours lag free, no disconnects…nothing….go figure.

I also think it is server overpopulation. And there is core of problem. Thay would have to spend money to improve servers. But it seems thay dont have money for that or just dont whant to spend money for it.

At this point, I’m also thinking about servers not being up to par when it comes to population, and some accounts are being down throttled in priority. Could explain why I have 30-90% packetloss on the most popular areas, but have zero issues in low level areas with very few ppl in them. A theory anyway.

No other game lags, connection in everything else is great. Only Failed Network Wars 2 lag like hell. PLAYNC is “the entertainment hub for all PlayNC games and services.” – Games like Guild Wars 2.

Untill packet enters their internal network every ping is under 50 ms.

GW2 get your network working, get rid of the incompetent workers you have now, they are failing at doing their job. Get rid of the outdated hardware and buy something that works.

No other game lags, connection in everything else is great. Only Failed Network Wars 2 lag like hell. PLAYNC is “the entertainment hub for all PlayNC games and services.” – Games like Guild Wars 2.

Untill packet enters their internal network every ping is under 50 ms.

GW2 get your network working, get rid of the incompetent workers you have now, they are failing at doing their job. Get rid of the outdated hardware and buy something that works.

I can confirm this.

As I reported in another thread the delay starts only at download (client view), thereby confirming a problem in GW2’s own outbound infrastructure. Sending to GW2 servers is normal.

Also try to be simple in testing your network if HD youtube.com video is fine then your Internet should be fine.

At this point, I’m also thinking about servers not being up to par when it comes to population, and some accounts are being down throttled in priority. Could explain why I have 30-90% packetloss on the most popular areas, but have zero issues in low level areas with very few ppl in them. A theory anyway.

My lags and disconnects are gone since I’ve resetted my internet box (remove power and cables for 10+ secs).

I would recomend game to my friends too, but can i take that responsibily for their money? I cant make tham buy game which they will not be able to play properly becouse of lagy servers and realy pooooooor support from Anet.

Tarnished Coast server.
Seems like when I get into a big DE I freeze (not my char but everything around) and then I get disconnected within 20 seconds.

I experienced this 4 times while trying to do the Shelter DE off the southern end of Pertinant Path in the Cursed Shore zone.

To add: this seems to be the only zone that is doing it to me.

game has unplayable lag since around dec 24th for me….combat is terrible with a frequent 2 min delay on sanctum of rall for me.

funny thing is…i can access the black lion trading company, purchase/sell items..take money and items off the trading post if it occurred while standing next to the tp npc. items i get of the tp are in my bags after i log back in after the eventual kick.

prior to the 24th i have had no lag at all period…now i cant play.

Cursed Shore latency delays and disconnects. Both computers on our network. This is the only zone I notice any issues with.
