New PC, low fps on all settings
i have been doing tequatl these past few months, and i havent had any problems with it.
about a week ago (this december 2013), i can no longer do tequatl because of severe lagging, and eventually crashing.
wvw is still ok, but i have also felt minor lag (im in kaineng server) which was not there before.
can anet help me out?

Motherboard: ASRock 970 Extreme4 (CPUSocket)
Graphics: 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 (Gigabyte)
Storage: 223GB KINGSTON SH103S3240G ATA Device (SSD)GW2 when start I have low fps on all settings high or low, about 9-14fps. I dont now why, I thinks i have very good pc. Where is can be problem? Thank you.

Using a program called CPU-Z, what does your PCI-E Link speeds report?
1x 4x, 8, or 16x?
Laptop: M6600 – 2720QM, AMD HD6970M, 32GB 1600CL9 RAM, Arc100 480GB SSD
Im a rrturning player and I am having the same exact issue. I used to play on an older setup at launch perfectly and now that I upgraded from a 560ti to a new gpu(gtx 760) and phenom 955 cpu to a (fx 8320 @ 4.5ghz) Not sure what to do.. I was excited to play again but feel like moving on already.
For trouble shooting, try moving to a different map, somewhere that doesn’t have lots of Festival decorations (snow in the air) or smoke. Also try turning down the character quality and quantity options. After doing that, see if you can get some better frame rates.
Try an older graphics driver and see if it helps, try 314.07 Geforce and see if it helps. It helps my frame rates over the newer drivers only with GW2 for whatever reason.
Dunno if you might have the same problem I did, but you can check my thread out, might help:

This has been said to many times, the game is Unoptimized simple as that.
Even so the op should be getting much better frame rates than currently.
@OP; Simple question are you actually using the Nvidia card and not the onboard graphics? As its a new system its very easy for it not to be set to use the Nvidia card as default. I believe there is a setting the in Nvidia control panel to set the game to use the Nvidia card exclusively.
Also ensure your screen is hooked up to the graphics card ports and not the onboard port of the motherboard.
I find this funny… guild wars 2 one of the big releases of last year with lots of people wanting to play it
is still over a year later an unoptimised pile of kitten
What version of windows are you on and is it 32 or 64bit?
put the correct term in but not everyone has kittens
Sorry for my bad english.
I have a dual core (2.5 ghz 32 bits) and an ATI 4650 HD 4gb ram ddr2 800, I always played with very low fps and I leave the game at first for that.
I replay 2 days ago, and i cant play against zerg because my fps drops to 2-3 fps even back to zerg. I know that I’ ve a low pc and graphic card.
Today I can play with a regular fps 12-15 with massive zerg, over 20 with normal zerg or similar and was great for me.
I used a tool called RadeonPro, google it. I create a profile for guild wars 2, selecting the client. In advanced I changed minimap quality and performance, graphics performance stinks. But still with quality I can play.
The setting that I change is LOD of textures (level of detail), I’m not an expert, but is a value that tells how much detailed a item would be in this case an texture would be, negative values increment the requeriments get best quality, from 0 to 3 (decimals between) decrease quality but increment the performance. Only with 0.2 value I can play a normal game in wvw with the fps that I said top. Try differents configurations with minimap and lod and use aninsotropic and tripple buffering optimizations.
I guess that is because I have and old graphic card and with reducing lod textures are smaller and need to process less.
Disable aero option works well too for me.
This are my actual setting for wvw:

Hope that was helpfull the tool and the advices, good luck.

I honestly believe it’s not our computers that is the issue (mine has comparable specs with the ones posted by other players), but something going on between Anet’s servers and our ISPs. I too have been having lag issues since Wintersday, which only got worse after the latest patch less than a week ago.
Previously I can play at optimal levels (Native resolution, Medium settings, between 40-50fps on average) with little to no lag, but now I cannot participate in big open world events without crashing, especially during Tequatl raids, even when I set it to High Performance levels (lowest possible graphical settings and everything).
I can tell that my client is about to crash when my skill bar becomes unresponsive, then the rubberbanding when trying to move around, and the massive delays in response and reaction times. I’ve diligently sent bug reports using the in-game bug report form whenever this happens, but Anet has yet to work on it, perhaps due to the holidays.
I really hope this is resolved quickly. It is very frustrating to get disconnected mid-battle, like during the last phase of the Tequatl raid in an overflow map.
There’s network lag, which shows up as rubberbanding, teleporting and power activation delay; and poor FPS which is local hardware. The OP’s problem is poor FPS in major events.
