Official response on the Lag issues please?
Not sure what you did today but saw an improvement. Had a brief moment of lag spike around 3:30pm est that lasted for about 10 minutes max, but even though it delayed my skill abilities, I was still able to push them …. A marked improvement from the two-three minute delay I was getting before, and only for 10 minutes and not several hours. So thank you, whatever you did!
No improvement what so ever, game is impossible to play, this goes for almost 2 weeks now for me. And this is not the first time I get this insane lag (fps around 1 to 10).
Won’t post another Diagnostic file, I believe it’s irrelevant at this point.
I will try log to the game and see if anything changes from time to time, like i’m doing this days, I log about 4-5 times during the day and night in the hope the issue it’s gone.
I was hoping that today’s patch would have fixed the issue but both GW2 and GW1 are still laggy(for me atleast). Here are 2 screenshots comparing the latency I get on D3 and on GW2.

I’ll go ahead and update this thread as well since people are following different threads – Just to let you all know we made some adjustments on our end last night which will hopefully resolve your connectivity issues. If anyone is still experiencing any latency or disconnects please submit a technical support ticket.
No lag at all today. Was wonderful!

Now, i log in today after 1 or 2 days of been offline to see that anet fixed something to help out latency/lag issues. Once again, game is unplayable and delay is over 2 seconds on skills, npc and players ghosting. Come on, seriously?.
I was playing everyday with stable 95 to 110 ms, now it increases to 200 to 300 and so on and it wont drop down.
Is it gonna be like this always now? Please Tech support.
I tried playing after reading Ashley’s post but nothing has changed for me, I still get like 2x the ping I get on other games.

Nyq, you mentioned you were playing with stable 95 to 110 ms latency? Was this captured with resource monitor or a trace? I’m curious to know exactly what you mean.
Played yesterday evening (local time), but no improvement. It lags as hell!
Playing PvE, my skills won’t respond, my pet stays in the same place while i move.
Crafting, doesn’t work, it looks like it’s working, but gaining no xp and creates no items.
Selling items doesn’t work, i can click in the items but it doesn’t respond.
I can still log out, and then can re-enter with the same char, but it’s just moments before the lag starts again.

Since this morning (08.00 am GMT) no lag issues. Hurray!
Only one problem, got this strange thing, the game keeps running and my screen goes black and says “Input signal out of range”, happened twice this morning (12.50 pm GMT atm). I just shut down my PC and restart it, with no lag issues so far.
Any idea why this black screen with that message?
And yes I submited a ticket to the support team right after write this.
I’m actually happy with the no lag, thank you for showing us you indeed were taking care of this issue Ashley Segovia, but getting that disconnectivity can be nasty.

This seems to ALWAYS happen when these living events are going on, only now it’s far worse than previously (which was barely playable)

…and I suddenly have lag spikes again today, which last happened for me about a month ago. Things will work normally and then for a second or two no enemies attack, no skills cast, and everything will snap up to date (like… my health, for instance) and work for a bit more. Not even in WvW since it’s too crowded to get in.
Your test thing says packet loss, which is the same as I thought it was last time from tracing the route to the server (I can’t actually trace a route to GW2 servers – it times out eventually).

Thanks for looking into the problem, but still didn’t help me. Random lags spikes with 7:11:3:191:101.
Like from 10 pm cst to 10 am cst. No lag at all and the game runs flawless, but if I want to play during the day I pretty much can’t because of it.

I’m having the same random lag that starts randomly at certain times of the day (and lasts for a very long duration), but I was able to go around it using a private network such as WTFast, but today not even that is helping.
Game is unplayable right now, and it only shows when I’m in combat.
PvP combat with 3+ players in it is impossible to do anything at all, except press buttons randomly and hope they’re working.
For me, rubber-banding and pronounced skill lag started with the May 14 update and have not gotten better since. I’m getting 1-2 second skill delay pretty constantly, and performance deteriorates during EU prime time hours. Ping is mostly between 80 to 500 with the occasional jump into +1000. Controls feel sticky and frustratingly unresponsive.

Problems occur in s/tPvP. I don’t do PvE so I have no idea how it is over there.
The network “optimization” Anet has implemented since May 14 really threw a spanner in the works. A couple of more optimization patches and I probably can’t even reach the servers.

Hoping this gets fixed soon, already over a week with this problem for me.
ok.. its more then a MONTH i expierence terrible laggspikes, almost every fight i start freezing for like 3 to 8 seconds. Its in WvW but even in a 1v1 fight in spvp ive got lagg issues. In the morning or evening, it doesn’t matter which time i play. I tryed different options, replaced my router, cable, tryed to play on another computer, but nothing seems to work. Its only Guild Wars that cause me lagg isues, everything else works fine.

I have this issue since the beginning of the game.
I tried all the things I found about this subject, to solve the problem, and nothing worked.
In the end I just decided to manually increase the speed of my graphical card to 100% while playing the game.
Since I started to do this, my black screens stopped.
PS: I had all my drivers updated.

Still a game-breaking amount of lag depending on the zones / dungeons you play in..
Almost 0 delay in LA, then CoF (at least p1) has a 2 seconds to a minute of delay, to downright disconnects.

I won’t lie – I think it’s rather disgusting the way you’re treating your player base at the moment. Aside from constantly asking for reports from us, and the extremely rare “we’re looking in to this”, there’s just no dialogue being opened up about this rather long-term issue.
Sure, you can push out your fabulous monthly content, but if there’s no poor sod able to play the kitten content due to constant disconnects and server lag, it doesn’t exactly mean much now, does it?
As someone who’s been with the Guild Wars series for nigh on 8 years now, I have never felt so discontent and removed from what’s going on in the game as I do these days. I mean, really, what on earth is going on? What have you found out with regards to this issue? Are we getting closer to a solution?
I suppose I’d better attach my 3rd set of reports for you, for what it’s worth…

In the US playing on EU servers. Can’t play at all. :{ Same issue as everyone else. Just lots of lag to the point where nothing is functioning except for the chat and then I get DC’d with the 7:11:3:191:101 error message.

Anet, this is completely unprofessional. I have been lagging for more than two weeks now, and I have to wait until 2AM to play normally, but that’s not possible for me. The lag started after the last patch before the Dragon Bash update, I can’t play anything, WvW, sPvP, PvE, Dungeons, it doesn’t matter, the lag is everywhere.
And when I think about it, there are people who have been lagging for months, we’re costumers like everyone else and we DESERVE some attention.

I use local VPN China-USA that i always use for youtube etc…
it’s always on rate 800KBps (6Mbps) to download & watching youtube.
and everytime i play WvW after more than 6 months, i never had any lag issues.
Means it’s neither my ISP nor VPN problem
But SINCE a week ago i always experience lag issue (more than 60 seconds lag skill etc!! Only during total war). and the Game always crash if too crowded (WvW SM Total War). It’s really messed up entire game. (
Crash is still fine, not that frustrating… just relogin again and will be fine…
But lagging? that’s horrible….
Before, if i have Massive Total War in SM, i never experience even 1 second lag.
but now, i dont feel to play anymore, 60 second delay??
just like standing and watching in the middle of the war in SM without being able to do anything. LOL We saw all people moving except my skill wont move…
I really hope arena can fix this as soon as possible. somemore it’s almost SUMMER HOLIDAY my playin time..

My game has become completely unplayable in the last week due to these lag spikes and DC’s.. happens every day during 6-10pm gmt.. WVW completely unplayable and as i dont bother with anything else in the game = I am not bothering to log in anymore. Will idly glance at these forums from time to time to see if you bother trying to fix this issue. The way its looking though, I am far more likely to just uninstall, this is a shame as when it actually worked I did enjoy the game

Nightly lag is still here, and there’s a lack of a response from Anet. I sure hope that you don’t think your little comment last Friday will make people shut up and that the problem can just be swept under the carpet.
Would this disappear if people in Europe would play on EU servers rather than US servers?

1. Posting the diagnostic file here on open forum is a serious security threat, so I’m not gonna do it.
2. From the file I learned that I have 80 to 100% packet loss on plaync servers, constant.
3. The same happens even with all firewalls turned off, which means it’s not my fault, and besides it worked perfectly a week ago.
4. Your “adjustments”, ANet, managed only to screw things more on my end, as now I am often unable to authenticate, let alone play the game.
And telling people to submit a technical support ticket is just like telling them to just give up, because you won’t help. And I thought that the days of GW1 connectivity issues are long gone… :/
Oh, yeah, by the way – I’m in Poland, ISP is Orange (with a solid 40/4 fiber conection).

My VPN account (free trial) is almost running out and the game is totally unplayable without it.
Tried today and it seems it’s even worse than ever, walking around I see things teleporting, and as soon as combat starts, everyone starts blinking and dealing insane, unavoidable damage.
I doubt it’s being looked at anymore. They supposedly made some changes a week and half ago, announced it, told everyone who’s still having problems to send in a ticket. When you do this, they’ll explain packet loss and you’ll just be told it’s your ISP and that your ISP should look into it.
I recently had a couple good days surprisingly when the lag hit much later than usual. It has come back today however even earlier than normal. The time of when the lag hits seems to change after patches.
I have problem with huge lags too. Tonight lags started. Guild wars 2 is unplayable for me now. I have optic fiber and I am from Czech republic.

Guys – as I have said previously, please submit a technical support ticket with this information if you’re still experiencing issues. When we suggest players contact their ISP it is because we have found a considerable amount of packet loss that only the ISP can do anything about. We’re not simply sending away every player that submits a ticket.
Again, if you’re still experiencing lag or connectivity issues please submit a ticket so that we can better assist you one on one. It can be very difficult to obtain much needed information through the forums especially when players don’t provide all requested info or are afraid to share it due to security concerns.
It’s actually dumb to ask my ISP anything when there’s only one application that doesn’t work properly, I mean only GW2 works this poorly. Yeah the problem is clearly in your end, is so disrespectful towards your community, I’ve never seen threads like this in any game growing week after week and no one doing nothing:

Problem is not my ISP for sure, I can play any FPS in any server located in EEUU,
An MMO should be more than playable but this is not the case, in fact my girlfriend plays another f2p MMO, (a popular one, i’m not going to say the name), in this machine with less than half latency,
If one aplication gives me 200 and the other one 540 and they are both located on the same physical location the problem is yours guys,

when did people start having this problem? I can’t really remember but I’m having problem starting a few days ago. I’m not sure if it’s the same a week and a half like the other guy.
For some reason the GW2 support page don’t display for me. Not sure if it’s because I’m playing in an asia region.

some reason i think it is a Anet issues since i had no trouble with anything with NCsoft o Anet before and today i couldn’t log into the fourms for ages or took like 15 mins to actually log in and the game saying i cant connect when someone else logged into my pc has not problem playing gw2 on there account?
and on the network diag, it seems to time out when trying to reach the servers on your side from what i can see

Here’s my diagnostic results. My lag is bad enough that I may end up having to abandon the game… Hope this helps to solve the issue so I don’t have to!

Experiencing major lag, severe rubber banding in wvw and the game is unplayable for me now taking any fun factors away. Issues mainly skills not reacting, but people seam to be moving around likewise for me but everything i try to do does not seam to do anything then everything i did would all come at once. Trying to move around i would be in one place trying to go through gates, i can see my self moving around then i would end up back in the place i started from. Sometimes i would be further in front then taken back a few steps earlier. Experienced this since last big patch game is not playable for me now, especially in wvw.
