Performance and fps drops
Anet is pushing patchesi n all the tie ot try sort out the top end performance issues peopel are having with igh end rigs.
This could potentialy ..depending on how its done ..push out lower end PC’s from being able to play with good performance. This is just a theory so dont take my word on it.
Ether way i think you got lucky being able to play GW2 at those settings with that FPS ..with your rig. becouse it is old ..it is slow now compared to todays standards.
All i can sugest is to find out what is causing the low FPS ..is it your GPU or CPU bottleecking. Go download a monitoring program and find out. If its your CPU ..you can OC. if its your GPU ..well you could try a OC .but im no expert on AMD cards so i wouldtn know what you could expect from that.

I have a second desktop spec similarly, except it had a ATI Radeon HD 4670 which is a notch above yours. I was never able to get close to 60fps on high setting @ 1680×1050.
Got more like 20-30fps in PVE with low best performance settings.
The only exclusive skyhammer stream
Never belive in stories about 60 steady FPS on rigs like that.
it’s just lie with no screen shots or that person looked on FPS when nothing was going on and staring to wall.
Theres no way that rig would run this game on HIGH graph with this rig. Untill You somehow turned resolution to under 1024×700
To be more clear todays low end Laptop i3s/i5s will handle this game better then your Old quad due to technological process.

kinda have the same problem, but on a laptop. don’t know why, my CPU can turbo up to 3Ghz :/

Hmm pretty weird, because my rig looks like this, and I run the game with 30-100fps with only reflections a notch lower, rest is running on high, shadows on high (not on ultra):
Q9500 (4x 2.8Ghz)
Nvidia GTX240
8GB Ram
30Fps in crowded places such as LA, on high settings.. in PvE I always got above 60fps.. WvW is troublesome on high, but above 30fps on lowest settings, can’t complain because I barely paid anything for this rig, you don’t need a 1000$ computer to run GW2, just optimize your computer properly, don’t have unnecessary junk installed or running at the same time, I would back this up with screenshots but I’m currently not able to login.
